Many years ago I landed face down on the footpath at the side of the road. My cycle helmet was noticeably thinner at the front than before. Even with the helmet I felt woozy and was seeing bright lights for a while. Without it things might have been a lot worse.

In another timeline Starmer wouldn't have appointed Mandelson and the Murdoch press would have ragged on him for a year for his diplomatic ineptitude, pissing off Trump needlessly, and then quietly forgot about it when Mandelson turned up in the files,

I don't think I've ever had any form of anti-tetanus vaccination. Yet another of those things I ought to get around to I suppose.

Phwoar. Would you just LOOK at the spandrels on THAT. (By which I mean of the iron and glass canopies on Skipton rly station, designed by Trubshaw for the Midland Railway. Long-time fan, here.)

Braverman says she's "come home" to Reform Ltd. Does she not realise how many Reform supporters would tell her to "go home".

Narcissistic personality disorder, cognitive decline, and sole unchecked authority to authorize the use of US nuclear weapons is certainly a bracing combination.

Some people don't yet realise that the Nobel peace prize has been totally worthless ever since they gave it to Kissinger.

I'm old enough to remember when Carter had to sell his peanut farm to avoid the appearance of conflict of interest.

I'm sure Farridge is claiming enough MP's office expenses to pay for someone who can "do computers". If not, maybe one of his generous donors could provide someone.

All done, except for labelling the jars. I think I first made #marmalade in 1992, so I've sort of got the hang of it now. Stirring a seething pan of boiling marmalade is as close as I'll ever get to being an alchemist.

Until a decade or so ago I had not realised that democracies were so vulnerable to being taken over by enemy countries. All they need do is to get their proxies to win elections.
I think that's a hard problem to fix.
