“Video distributor thinks video is the future of podcasting” shock. Also very telling that he considers podcasts just recordings of conversations.

BBC Sounds - Dead Ringers - Available Episodes
Listen to the latest episodes of Dead Ringers on BBC Sounds.
I mixed Dead Ringers yesterday. The 1st episode of this programme I’ve made, but also the 1st episode of the programme made since its creator, Bill Dare passed away earlier this year. It’s really sad he’s gone but I hope we’ve made a show he’d have been pleased with.

If you just saw a middle-aged man walking along with what may have appeared to be tears in his eyes, blame @jonholmes.bsky.social and his team for the incredibly powerful ending to the week's #TheSkewer. Christ, that got me.

The Skewer - Series 13 - Alca-Trump Prison, Reform the Children, and Nosfaragetu - BBC Sounds
Jon Holmes brings you the week's biggest stories like you've never heard them before.
As the weeks go by the skewer seems to be voicing my internal monologue processing the news - absolute core listening to remedy the bilge that the news cycle throws out. If only all BBC news was this considered.
Well done @jonholmes.bsky.social and his excellent

BBC Radio 4 - The Skewer, Series 13, Man of Steel and Art of the Deal
The week's news - remixed. This week Charlie XCX's Trump Bump and Starmer: Man of Steel.
We’re back tonight for a thirteenth series. And I’d like to think despite the last 12 series we’re still as sharp and as blunt as ever. This week: Man of steel, it’s dumb that you feel, and the art of the deal. 11:15pm on @radio4rne.bsky.socials #TheSkewer www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m...

Radio 4 - Tonight - 7.15. A documentary about a field near Cincinnati and what the flip everyone was doing there exactly almost roughly 50 years ago. From the appalling minds of @anc1entmarinade.bsky.social, @jonholmes.bsky.social, @tonychurnside.bsky.social 'n' me. 📻

I see AI being used in the radio industry more and more, and it does all the repetitive mundane jobs that taught me how to be good at doing the more advanced stuff. There’s a good chance it will save a fortune in the short term and cost dearly in the long term. Unless of course AI replaces us all.

A white-collar world without juniors?
Professional business models may need to change if novices lose the opportunities to learn and progress when AI takes over their work
Excellent FT article this morning by @sarahoconnorft.ft.com on how AI and similar technologies are already affecting entry-level professional jobs (something I think about a lot these days).

BBC Radio 4 - Illuminated, Fantasy Park: Fifty Years On
Bob Harris looks back at the 'greatest rock concert ever staged'.
It was the greatest line-up ever: Chicago, Led Zeppelin, Elton John, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Bee Gees ... and there was a rumour even the Fab 4 would appear.
