i genuinely really love homestuck and i have not been particularly enjoying seeing its shambling corpse paraded around for years after its finale. it feels like hussie is downright spiteful at having to keep making homestuck despite the fact that literally nobody asked him to do that

IMO it has a lot of individually stunning set pieces that don't really add up to anything particularly cohesive or offer much depth. hot take but i think its prominence among western retro fans is that it was IMO the most accessible RPG of the era for kids without feeling like it was MADE for kids

every pixel art indie RPG from a western dev seems to be "inspired by chrono trigger" but i also can't ever discern what they think that means except "on-field enemy encounters"

weirdly i sort of agree with this one, in that i feel like i've heard a zillion people cite it as the Greatest RPG Ever Made and it felt like almost none of them had any idea why they thought this. lot of people talking about chrono trigger but also nobody TALKS about chrono trigger you know?
