Well indeed! And here we are many many hours later and we’ve only used an extra 0.5kwh during the rest of the day. Probably boiling the kettle and exceeding what our inverter can discharge.

Hey @octopus.energy - what’s the highest off peak draw you see during a cold winters night?

We’ve just exceeded 100kWh! Heat battery ( @tepeoheatbattery.bsky.social ZEB), ordinary battery, running the A2A during the night to keep house from cooling down too much, hot water tank plus the car!

That’s a task for the spring when it not working doesn’t run the battery dry!

I’m not touching it lol! It’s a black box the inner workings of which are beyond my (current) understanding. Best to leave well alone!

Zappi is indeed integrated as we have two cars.

It’s my moral compass I suppose. Having said that they must want to push out elec otherwise they wouldn’t have given me a slot.

They’ve given a slot now and battery started to charge. Car can’t as it’s full.

They are definitely less robust. Forgot we had a handheld too, which aside from replacing the battery is going strong. Google says launched in 2009 so I guess we’ve had it 15+ years.

Doubt the new one will still be going in 15 years sadly.

I don’t disagree, but I don’t think just because someone is retiring they should cash in any investments. They could live several more decades and cash is a poor long term holding.

Also too may people hold far too much cash.

It’s a global world. The idea of investing in UK companies is more or less impossible to do in practice.

Is it sensible to de-risk at retirement for capital that’s not going to be spent for 10/15/20 or longer years?
