Earlier this year, thousands of us spoke up for France’s textile Ecoscore and the Commission listened. It is now officially in place. Public pressure worked.

Now we need that same momentum again.

But the European Commission is standing in the way.
If they block or weaken France’s plan, Europe could lose the best chance in years to push the fashion industry toward something more sustainable and fair.

Right now, France is trying to change that.
They have proposed one of Europe’s strongest laws to hold fast fashion companies accountable for overproduction and waste.

Much of Europe’s textile waste ends up in communities in Africa and Asia, where landfills overflow and ecosystems are overwhelmed. This is not just about shopping habits. It is about a system built to produce far more than anyone needs.

Europe buys 21 billion clothing items every year.
Most are worn fewer than 10 times.
And when they are thrown out, someone else pays the price.

Police confiscated the tents as soon as they appeared. But we stood firm, directly beneath the windows where decisions on Gaza are being made. With a crucial EU meeting coming, Gaza needed to be seen. Supporters sent postcards, photos, and messages that became a banner stretched across the square.

The People’s Encampment for Palestine was a powerful and peaceful space of resistance - calling on the EU to end its complicity in genocide, occupation, and apartheid. The message was clear: we cannot let the EU act as if nothing is happening while Israel continues to starve and bomb Gaza.
