The first video game I remember playing was Asteroids in a convenience store by my grandmother's house. I watched other kids play and ran back to get some quarters from my mom so I could play.

Whenever we went to visit my grandmother all I wanted to do. It was the beginning of my addiction. 🙂

I used to avoid games that were in first person. I tried playing Chronicles of Riddick on the Xbox when it first came out and it gave me motion sickness. I didn't get back into them until Left 4 Dead came out. Then I went back and played the stuff I avoided.

Four games I wish I could experience for the first time again.

Not sure where you're at in the game, but there's one part that caught me by surprise that made me think, 'what the fuck man?'

On my first playthrough of FFX I absolutely HATED blitzball and completely ignored it. I gave it a shot on another playthrough and after learning more about the mechanics and recruiting I had fun with it. A standalone blitzball game from Square would be more entertaining than Madden.

Sometimes the world we live sucks and life is shitty. Video games give us an escape and allow us to be somewhere else where we have some semblance of control. We can relate to characters and interact without judgements.

Walking into 2026

I live in a relatively small town but this time of year it feels like people drive from hundreds of miles away just to come to the same store I happen to be at. I just need trash bags man, not the hassle of being caught up in a Christmas shopping mosh pit.
