I think one of the greatest causes of addiction is escapism. We were never taught how to process and manage our uncomfortable feelings and emotions, therefore we cope by drinking, smoking, eating, numbing, ect. With substances or activities we have access to. Its self medication. #addiction

While needing people is healthy, enmeshing someone and losing your unique self with someone is co-dependent. Making it your job to rescue them from their own doing without them even asking, is co-dependent. Losing touch with your needs and taking on someone else’s is codependent. #codependant
