Automated tests to ensure code is at least not dead on arrival is a minimum. A full sanity suite is something anyone making/selling software should be aiming for. Software quality can be improved, but too often people are caught up in building sprinkles with not enough time to test is not broken.

Another patch Tuesday, another blue screen. Come on @microsoft.com the quality of these has to get better. A reboot I understand, a bsod not so much. This machine has otherwise been pretty stable.

As a general rule, the more complex a thing I’m trying, the more likely I am to see a strange error. Changing between assembly workbench types can make wierd things happen for me.

Which workbench were you in when you saw that? Which version of FreeCAD?

@freecad.bsky.social It looks like the FreeCAD forums are down - I'm getting a 403 "Invalid response" on an "Oh Noes" page. Tried empty caches too.

I am reworking an exploded diagram made a year ago. I am now in the newer version of FreeCAD, and trying to get an assembly together - hoping to go back around assembly -> exploded assembly -> techdraw to get some instructions.

I've been using an iFixit manta toolkit for a while now. It's incredibly versatile, and I like the selection and handles. I love the case, with spots
for stopping screws rolling away during a fix. I don't like that the bits often get stuck in the large drive and need pliers to get them out.

I based a 2D game uni coursework (in 1999/2000) on the gameplay of Alien Breed. Albeit with robot vs robot and turrets, but same top down sci fi feel, shoot em up, with key cards.

@openvibe.social ok, this app looks awesome. But there’s an angle I don’t get. What is in it for you guys? It’s free for users. I know that dev, infra, and AppStore placement is not free.

The superpower I wish I had earlier in my career is learning how to read documentation. It's intimidating, and every language or even framework does it a bit differently. But just breaking that wall and reading it for what I am working on has helped me out so much.
