No, just because it has a pneumatic brain does not mean you can call it an air-head.

14.10.2025 16:27 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Hu, help me out here what gives away an AI font?
14.10.2025 14:07 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yea, I have had conversations exactly like that with AIs, to the point I have them cross check stuff, and it still doesnt work. They cant learn so they get into error cycles. Useless
14.10.2025 14:04 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Anyone out there have schematics, boot cartridge ROM dumps for the Philips P2000B/P2500?
Information is very sparse for this machine. The cartridge isn't compatible with early machines and seems to have some kind of multiplexed bus.
I been saving bits of plywood as I find them around, today I got to assembling most of it into some storage boxes. I find that wood boxes are cheaper and last longer. yay, I can do some more organizing.
14.10.2025 03:32 β π 10 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0ok, closing it up and moving on...The yard lights, are upside down, sealed, burried tea candle cups. The leds are set to run just bright enough to not screw up night vision. I made an error with some of them, and set them too low, they have disappeared in the grass :/ They pull about 0.5-2mA ea
13.10.2025 20:32 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0despite the charger not dumping, the battery voltage is ok. It will get a bit dodgy in winter. The charge controller disables the load under about 11V to protect the battery.
13.10.2025 20:31 β π 7 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The red LED indicates the battery is fully charged and its dumping all the power from the solar panel. I had hoped to see it glowing :/
To make sure it cant brick, the system puts the solar power straight(diode) into the battery, then shunts excess.
Here is the charger/controller box that manages the battery charge and turns the lights on and off (it uses the solar panel dipping under 1.4V to turn the yard lights on)
13.10.2025 20:28 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Good morning! a sunny day is giving me an opportunity to check the charging system for my solar yard lights.
This is the solar panel that charges it.
omg they have their fingers in everything....
13.10.2025 09:29 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Who is BCM?, wow they don't even put their name on the manual...
(thanks)
I have some front end modules for a tektronix scope, I have been pondering a DIY digital scope for a while.
13.10.2025 07:47 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0god, it seems like it was just 30 years ago...
Meh, but its not that long anyhow, it came out late.
There is a descent haul of chips off this, the main ADCs are 14 bit, 65MSPS, and there are also some 2.5MSPS 16 bit ones. I still have ambitions of making a digital scope...
13.10.2025 05:31 β π 17 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0My recollection is that the motherboard in the mowerbot takes about 3A of 5V. One of the converter modules on the power supply board is rated for 6A of 5V, I might consider an upgrade later.
13.10.2025 05:29 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The computer power supply itself is a surprise, its what seems to be a rando brand Chinese one. I am told this same name is a German company that makes good supplies, this one does have a "made in china" on it. meh.
13.10.2025 05:28 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The power supply has this HUGE ASS transformer in it, for converting 240 down to 120 for other internal devices. HEAVY
600VA
Funny thing, there is no name brand on the motherboard, I have not yet tried to look up who make it...
13.10.2025 05:25 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0The drive bay is a removable module, one of the drives is an SSD, which is nice, It might make a nice upgrade for my shop jukebox.

13.10.2025 05:22 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0They taped the PC connectors on this, and I can understand why. Have you ever had one of these come loose? I have!
13.10.2025 05:21 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0OH sorry..
** WARNING, RUE FLOOD ALERT **
The PC has an interesting aux device power breakout....
13.10.2025 05:19 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0OMG that skill, you don't even have a body yet.
13.10.2025 05:18 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0And you know, I SWEAR I saw RAM in here just a few mins ago....
13.10.2025 05:17 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0That brings us to the computer, which wont be much special..
motherboard, video cards, apparently no CUDA here :(
AYYYEEEEEEEEK!!!!
dont pull on that Rue!!!
Relays, can you say wholy relays?
These are used to multiplex the 3 sensors to the acquisition module.
