Three—as you may have guessed—form an em dash.

It's been a tough year or so for em dashes.

They're largely now considered hallmarks of AI-generated writing: both overused by LLMs and inconvenient for humans to type.

I still like to use them where appropriate, and I've taken to using an AutoHotkey shortcut to do so.
