I donβt think so, but you can probably mine it from volcanoes.si.edu. Idk that itβs ever been compiled, but that would be a cool thing to visualize for sure!

βοΈTHE SUMMER FIGHT FOR SCIENCEβοΈ
π«΅ WHO: You + all our friends
π§ͺ WHAT: Share science with your neighbors and tell them about the impact of proposed budget cuts.
πΊπΈ WHERE: Your local community
ποΈ WHEN: Now to Sept 30th
π¬ WHY: The 9/30 budget vote will determine the future of science in America.
My ongoing request:
If your NSF or NIH grant was terminated--whether at Harvard or elsewhere--please report it here.
NSF: grant-watch.us/submit-nsf.h...
NIH: grant-watch.us/submit-nih.h...
Our trackers are actively used in lawsuits and are often the only record that terminations ever occurred.
This is data we paid for out of our taxes, just being thrown away and made unavailable.

For current & recent (since 2020) awards, archive your award history this afternoon/tonight. Screenshot/download/print your work in research.gov & alert your partners.

NEW: The total loss of NOAAβs office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research βa nerve center of global climate science, data collection and modeling β represents a setback for climate preparedness that experts warn the nation may never recover from.

The government continues to cancel grants at both NIH and NSF to censor science it doesn't like.
We're tracking terminations to organize and advocate. Please report your terminated grants:

Pope Francis leaves behind a legacy of compassion, courage, and a continuing call to protect our common home and all who share it with us.
In his 2023 exhortation, Laudato Deum, he spoke out strongly against those who reject what science tells us about climate and deny their own responsibility. π§΅

This Nature article today confirms what DOGE's arrival at NSF can mean: terminating already awarded grants.
"DOGE is...considering more than 200 of them for termination, NSF staff members have told Nature"
What can we expect? And what should NSF grantees do?

"Concentration camps" aren't the same as "extermination camps." Both were/are horrific.
Most Nazi camps were *outside Germany*, away from the eyes of German citizens.
Those trains? Were to, uh, deport the category of people whose lives were deemed unimportant.
Never again is now.
"A budget allocation of just over $170 million, down from about $485 million in 2024, would hobble science as varied as early warning systems for natural disasters, science education for students in kindergarten through high school, and the study of the Arctic."
πππ
It's business as unusual.
Every cut to Federal grants for mitigation, emergency management, and preparedness grants, makes it significantly more difficult to save lives and protect property and the environment during the next disaster.
This is complete chaos and it will result in worse disasters.
These historic bits are so interesting, but this one really struck me. It illustrates how important it is to clearly inform the public about the different hazards different volcanoes have, and why federal organizations like the USGS & the volcano hazards program are essential!

HVO and AVO office leases are both on that list (I didn't see YVO or CVO when I skimmed it?). HVO is the oldest volcano observatory in the world and monitors the most persistently active volcanoes in the US. AVO monitors very high-risk volcanoes that can esp impact int'l air travel.

24.02.2025 23:26 β π 2748 π 546 π¬ 72 π 24As a member of the Twitch community, I would like to invite you to participate in an official research study. To participate you must: be at least 18 years of age, have your own registered Twitch account, and have watched at least one VOD or livestream on Twitch featuring science content within the last six months. This study will examine how interactive live-streaming of science content on Twitch may impact attitudes and perceptions about science. The study also hopes to measure how effective Twitch is as a tool for science outreach by increasing accessibility to scientists, scientific information, and science-focused experiences. The results of this study are anticipated to be published in 2025 and will be useful in improving science outreach on Twitch and other platforms. Qualifying participants will be asked to complete an online survey that is expected to take about 15 minutes. There is no financial compensation for participating in this study. You will not be explicitly asked by any member of the research group if you have individually participated in this study, and there is no requirement to participate. Participation is 100% voluntary, and you may quit the survey at any time without your responses being recorded. If you have any questions about the study, please contact the Principal Investigator, Dr. Melissa Scruggs, at melissa.scruggs@wichita.edu. We really appreciate your time & thank you so much for your help in improving science outreach!
Have you been over to Science Twitch recently?
If yes, please take my survey! I'm trying to understand how effective of a platform it is for scicomm & how it may impact public attitudes & perceptions about science & scientists.
Survey ends Fri 2/28 - take it at tinyurl.com/TwitchSci
