Expect some snark along with some history. Analysis is just my opinion, and I might be wrong… Also, I’m human without an edit button. There will be typos.

this is in fact exactly why you stay non-violent and disciplined, so that this isn't just seen as pushing and shoving and instead the unlawful assault by the state that it is

Usually, on Sundays, every park was filled with games played by Latino men in their 20s and 30s. They would go until there was snow on the ground.

Agents also jumped a fence into the locked backyard and manhandled people doing work. Hear from the homeowner tonight on The Weekend: Primetime.

There ain't nothing scarier in this world than a CISO who can suss-out assertions you don't have the data for, and asks to see it.

Was an honor to share the stage with @malcolmkenyatta.bsky.social yesterday @rooseveltu.bsky.social to talk about the future of the Democratic Party.
Also, 2022 Pennsylvania primary voters—you messed up not picking this guy.
It’s not even a cumulative effect. This effect is often immediate. I’ve now seen at least 10 incidents of ICE goons showing up, getting yelled at, and then giving up
25.10.2025 17:52 — 👍 505 🔁 135 💬 11 📌 6Hello Chief and APD Leadership, I just wanted to jot a quick thank you note for those who participated in this meeting with the Latino community about ICE in our neighborhoods. Sadly, this problem is not going away anytime soon. Historically, the police have been on the wrong side of history during the civil rights movement and the labor movement - defending capital. The pivotal points in American history are when police realized that their solidarity should be with labor; not capital. Labor vs. police: Learning from working-class history Workers World In this current struggle, I believe that we are 2-3 years away from a moment where we see the shift in solidarity. I would like to see Aurora lead, and show something different. It will create discomfort during the transformation. I noticed during the march towards Blue Kangaroo, when the police escort disappeared, that activists I didn't know used their vehicles to block the intersections and protect the marchers.
All living things have the capacity to evolve and grow. Government is about to go through a huge evolutionary period and shed that which is not necessary, and re-focus on what is important. As government continues to disintegrate from the top down, we have an opportunity to re-invent the ways we find food, water, shelter and protection. We would like the Aurora Police Department to play a historic role in defending the United States of America, and our city against fascism. We have a unique opportunity to do something different, leave our mark in the history books, and make a difference. I'm excited about the opportunity and look forward to discussing it further. Respectfully, John Laesch Mayor, City of Aurora laesch@aurora.il.us
I haven't seen people here mention this letter from the mayor of Illinois' 2nd-largest city (Aurora, 40+% Latino)

So here it is!
Grocery stores run on razor-thin margins. The overnight disappearance of the demand stimulated by food stamps will be very bad for their business. Bad enough to exacerbate food deserts. Bad enough to put downward pressure on the overall food supply.

25.10.2025 18:03 — 👍 11 🔁 1 💬 0 📌 0All morning was spent chasing ICE out of my neighborhood in Chicago (Avondale) and meeting other neighbors who were out patrolling on foot, on bikes, and in cars. A caravan of ICE SUVs got within a half block of my house. I finally had to use my whistle. It works. It drew others out to the street.

His nomination is a slap in the face of South Africa’s government. But that’s the point.
