I appreciate that. I'm just struggling a lot with being suicidal and feeling alone. I struggle to connect with people and don't really have any friends. And I've hurt any friends I've had in the past by being absent of emotions. Makes me feel like if I was gone it wouldn't matter much at all.

You do deserve good things and the world is better with you in it. I'm struggling in a similar way right now, feeling I only cause problems and don't do anything good by staying in this world. But it's not cowardly to stay alive, keeping going in the face of those kinds of feelings is very strong.

Fun thing is in the UK a not insignificant amount of GPs will just refuse to have anything to do with trans care, especially if it comes from a private route instead of public health care. It's really encouraging people to pay to work within a system that could still result in them not getting care

Assuming it's legit It's technically a better option than the NHS and some of the private clinics, but I think that just attests to how much private clinics are not a viable alternative to the public system. It's completely inaccessible to the majority of trans people.

Even if it's truly an earnest attempt to do some good, making a video saying "unfortunately many trans people don't have the same resources I do" and then talking up a private clinic with a £200 "joining fee" is remarkably tone deaf

It's a UK based clinic, in the UK the (non DIY) options for HRT are going through the NHS with lifelong waiting lists or paying a private clinic, the options for which are limited. Anne is just another private clinic, I don't think it's really a grift but it's not an accessible option for most.

Maybe it's just burnout speaking but I don't understand how anyone can feel creatively fulfilled working in AAA game dev. Even working at one of the more artistically well regarded studios all I can think is "this art does not belong to me, no part of this game speaks to anything about myself".

holy shit there is no value inherent to the game. The value comes via interpretation. That's why something super valuable to me might be worthless to you

kinda sick of entertaining the imagined objective qualities of art because people are entirely uninterested in reading one(1) essay about how meaning is derived from text.

Whenever you write that a story is "good" or a character is "relatable" you are talking about *yourself* as much as the game.

do people really think reviewing a video game is the same thing as reviewing a refrigerator?

Can we measure the objective qualities of a video game against other similar products? Can we do a price/value breakdown? Should every video game review reveal the same collected data?
