DoNoHarm BC
We're a non-partisan action group of British Columbians advocating for evidence-based safety measures in high-risk settings.
BIG news for Canadians trying to navigate healthcare w/o contracting COVID & other airborne pathogens.
The Canadian Standards Association has opened a draft for updating a standard for public comment. It includes the use of N95s in healthcare.

A cozy windowsill scene featuring an open book, a light green coffee cup, and a white ceramic pitcher filled with pink geraniums. The items are arranged on a wooden surface in front of a bright window that looks out onto lush green foliage, creating a peaceful reading nook atmosphere.
Good morning! Today, I hope you only count what matters to you, like a peaceful moment, a relaxing experience and a thoughtful gesture. Wishing all three for you today.

The 'New Work' of Patients and Care Partners
Managing complex chronic health conditions that require 'new work' from patients and care partners - work that we are often not told about.
#NewWork is a term I first read in 'Why We Revolt: The Patient Revolution for Careful and Kind Care' by Dr. Victor Montori.
It's the work that falls to us in an increasingly industrialized and specialized HC system.

Black and white photo of Tony and Beth taken for an organ transplant promotion. Beth is standing behind Tony and he is wearing a dark t-shirt with a stylized drawing of lungs with the slogan, "live life, pass it on' on the front. You can see his medic-alert tag around his neck.
Navigating Healthcare started after my husband lived through end-stage lung failure and a lung transplant - with me riding shotgun.
In the past I've worked in biotech and been a high school science teacher. Now I'm creating courses & resources to help others better navigate our healthcare systems.
