I spent a lot of time thinking about what I wanted to write, but now, I’m overwhelmed with feelings and at a loss for words. I think the best thing is just to thank the community for this amazing year and the incredible response to my silly little idea. When Valve approached to make the banners I was in disbelief. I never thought that a company so big would be interested in my work, especially one that made my favorite video game of all time! (Portal 2). So I spent a lot of time thinking about what I wanted to share with everyone, and that’s how Steam Delivery Girl came to be! She represented one of my first experiences with Steam when the sales came and one of my friends gifted me a couple of games. That fuzzy feeling of joy, of receiving and giving! I also wanted to represent a bit of the landscape of my home country. Chile! So everyone could take this journey together. I wanted to write a final few words to close the project and end this amazing year. I want to thank the community for all the kind messages, the fanart, and the memes. I loved everything! I never expected that this character would receive so much love! To the Valve Team, for all the patience, and feedback, and for putting their trust in me, you guys were a pleasure to work with! And finally, my friends, who behind curtains helped me out, encouraged me to keep going, for listening to my rants when I was burned out and for, in the end, making them proud! Well, the modern jokes and gags may feel “overdone” but I believe it’s because they are really trying to appease the majority audience with something they can connect with or excites them. Such as the reference to pop culture like Twitter and Godzilla, Madmax (coconut version) in the first movie.

The only issues lies is the “pop/theater” music doesn’t match the tone of the movie. Except the part when they sung Tokelau/Samoan bc the movie mainly focus on Moana’s connection with her culture and family/ancestors. It is thanks to Opetaia Foa’i Moana has her own identity.
