Mamdani: "We can respond to oligarchy and authoritarianism with the strength it fears, not the appeasement it craves. After all, if anyone can show a nation betrayed by Donald Trump how to defeat him, it is the city that gave rise to him."

Powerwash 2 really wants to prove that it needed to be new and better game. The graphics are more detailed, the water is more realistic, leaves and dust float through the air, the player now has idle animations.
You can "pet" the cat

If you are a democrat with some big ideas, cares about trans people, minorities, civil rights, and the rest of your community, even with minimal experience and have aspirations of wanting to help - as well as zero Nazi tattoos: now is your time to start exploring a run for the government next year.

The entire right-wing propaganda machine came after Zohran Mamdani.
The president and his allies came after him.
Democratic leaders, by and large, did not have his back until the last minute.
He still won, turning out historic numbers and inspiring young voters.
His politics can win anywhere.

BIG BREAKING: Democrat Zohran Mamdani is elected Mayor of New York City, in the largest turnout vote since 1969. He becomes the first Muslim and immigrant mayor of New York City, and the first Muslim to be elected of a major U.S. city.

All in all, my relationship with Legends is TBD. I plan on playing Arceus, because I'm really interested in the setting, but who can say about future titles. I guess I'd need a really big hook to bring me back into this gameplay style.

That said, I'm a Kalos fan, I loved Pokefrance and I love gen 6, so I'm just happy we got to go back and pick things up again. That's the primary reason I played this game, tbh.
04.11.2025 04:03 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
Again, this clearly should have been Pokemon Z instead of this. They were clearly setting things up to go that way, so it's really weird to me that it never happened.
Alas.

I also think this game finally made Megas work. Megas are conceptually very fun, so I'm really happy to see them finally make sense in gameplay.

I did like how we're encouraged to change around moves though, that was great.
I hated the alphas for the most part, but I got to have a Big Ol' Fucking Gyarados, so I forgive them.
04.11.2025 04:03 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
I loved picking up the story from XY. I loved that all these factions were trying to make Lumiose better in their own conflicting ways. I loved the scaffolding puzzles. I loved playing a slightly older character. I loved the silly little sidequests.
04.11.2025 04:03 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
But for all my complaints, I also loved this game. I loved running around and exploring Lumiose. I loved that battles and wild pokemon were largely restricted to their own areas so I could explore in relative peace. I loved the PC personalization - probably the best in a Pkmn game so far.
04.11.2025 04:03 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
I hated Alphas and how they'd ATTACK YOU, and I hate how your pkmn's attacks can hurt you, and I hated the blast damage you take in big battles
But I also wouldn't change it for this game. That's all thematically important to the story here. Unfortunately.
04.11.2025 04:03 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
But BOY was it not for me. I don't care much for battles to begin with, and nearly every change they made to the system was making it worse for me. Just not my damn jam. I knew I wouldn't like it, too - it's the reason I never picked up Arceus.
04.11.2025 04:03 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
I appreciate all the things the battle system does right, and I do love that Gamefreak/Nintendo are experimenting with tradition in a spinoff like this, and I think it's an interesting take on a classic. I think it needs some polish to make it feel more responsive, but it's generally solid.
04.11.2025 04:03 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
And there simply wasn't a lot to the gameplay loop. It felt very basic in that regard. I have a feeling a lot was cut out to make the Hoopa DLC.
04.11.2025 04:03 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
This game was not good in so many ways.
It did not feel like Lumiose was designed to be the Only Location and that the devs didn't understand how/have the opportunity to make a single city feel fresh for the whole game
