"Everyone liked X"
"I don't like X"
"This doesn't disprove me"

it's actually really funny when you see people valourise "mum and pop landlords", for many reasons, but the chiefest is, of course, that i do not think A Random Pair Of Unqualified People should be running housing for anyone else

democratic party cheerleaders are really doing their best to make it seem like the nominee for president in 2028 is gavin newsom already huh

Nah. Me saying no argues against it perfectly. You said everyone liked something so me disagreeing proves you wrong

Not only then, they are extremely aggressive to non elite accountability attempts. We all saw the pure distain when people criticized dem actions on israel

history says this is usually untrue

You didn't explain yourself when you said the much higher weight argument of "everyone liked the old level curve"

12.02.2026 00:52 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

theoretically, in practice its going to happen when you talk politics with people who disagree with you

I thought the most important question was "how much can you draw web gear like a harness and get away with it"

I think this is how Fire Emblem got so much more popular

Tumbler Ridge shooter had interest in gore, guns, and white supremacy

Unsurprising to all but the most feckless, The mass shooter in canada was a nazi

so all billionaires are bad? why point to a subgroup?

11.02.2026 21:42 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

the non jewish billionaires are fine though, musk did nothing wrong

Did I say wait on elected officials? Also whether or not its legal doesn't mean that its useful.

11.02.2026 20:46 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

point 2 and 3 are contradictory, you can't both say "we can force canadian trade to go through us" and "we can go around canada to make trade" with this geography

11.02.2026 19:16 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

same, of course part of that is pushing back on people who act like someone was already crowned. Like imagine if people were doing that in 2017?

11.02.2026 19:09 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

personally I'd be more worried that people are trying to run the primary in 2026 and calling people who don't bend the knee traitors than people who are mad at newsom being a piece of shit

11.02.2026 19:04 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

like I know it sucks but people can choose not to vote and they will if it means voting for someone who blocks trans healthcare and pals around with the trump media circle.

11.02.2026 19:03 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

ok since this is a term you don't seem aware of: what I'm asking is were you convinced to vote kamala by people saying "yeah she's a complete scumbag on gaza but the other guy is WORSE"? If the answer is no then why do you think it will work here with gavin?

11.02.2026 19:02 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

I'm losing my mind, its pre primary, this is people infighting

11.02.2026 18:54 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I have to ask: did you get convinced to vote kamala by someone telling you she's only 99% hitler? If not why do dem supporters think its a good argument?

11.02.2026 18:54 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Like ignore the attempts at utilitarian calculus: how is this supposed to convince people?

This reminds me of evangelicals who made these complicated pseudo-scientific arguments when they know that they were convinced by something else. Like you don't really believe in the calculus either!

11.02.2026 18:52 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

here's a problem with absolutely applying the harm reduction thesis these days: all Republicans are ontologically evil. it is effectively impossible to a Democrat to be worse. by this logic, even if a Democrat is evil (which many of them are), i should still vote for them. does that not seem stupid?

11.02.2026 18:27 β€” πŸ‘ 8    πŸ” 3    πŸ’¬ 3    πŸ“Œ 1

There's been a weirdly bipartisan project to paint the people who vote republicans as more real and I think this is the outcome

When did I say anything that cares about the legality? The legality does not matter

11.02.2026 18:46 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

when did I say its illegal? How did I say the legality of the action is bad? I said that it being legal doesn't matter when it comes to tactical value which is just obvious.
