tomorrow on Socialism on the Ballot, the first 4,000 words of a post assessing where socialists are already likely to be on the ballot for 2026

(i recommend using an RSS reader to follow—Substack sucks and this only uses it because i can't splurge for Ghost or an alternative)

the case against a Chi Ossé endorsement was already very strong but Velazquez's retirement should be the dagger because we can (and arguably should) just win NY-07 now

Join DSA. Become a member today. Democratic socialists have an historic opportunity and responsibility to play a central role in continuing the political revolution for the long term. As a democratic, grassroots organization, DSA is ...

anyways, join DSA so you can help districts upgrade from mere "good progressive Democrats" to "genuine, principled socialists who agitate for working class interests and build the American proletariat's class consciousness"

this is literally the most socialist congressional district in the country (and it's not close), expect this to completely upend NYC-DSA's electoral calculations and for a cadre member to run. no fewer than seven DSA elected officials represent some part of this district at another level of gov't

The best thing that we could do for indigenous people would be to end all tribal land designations and encourage them to relocate + integrate to modern society (funded by the government)

The two tier system is horrible for native people, dooms them to poverty and subjugation

the vice chair of the Center for New Liberalism advocating for ending all tribal land designations and encouraging Native Americans to relocate and "integrate into modern society" feels like a pretty on-the-nose indicator of where self-IDed economic liberals are at right now

thinking about the countless number of people who have argued vehemently that DSA is not a major political force, and now we've elected the Mayor of New York City and he's weighing in (as a dues-paying, active member) on whether we should endorse a guy to primary Hakeem Jeffries

NYC-DSA, Please Do Not Endorse Chi Ossé Why are we even having this conversation?

NYC-DSA will be considering an endorsement of Chi Ossé's run for NY-08 today and—while i support Chi's run otherwise—i completely oppose an endorsement of that run by NYC-DSA. i think endorsing him would be a serious, unforced error, and i hope you agree:

the error of logic here is almost comedically simple: where do people want to live? and the answer is the "cherry-picked places" where housing prices are high, because the correlation between high-demand places and job opportunities/economic advancement/general productivity is overwhelming

somehow, Will Stancil has arrived at the "there is no housing crisis, there are enough homes for everyone" position from a YIMBY perspective. honest to god might be a first-ever occurrence online, because you have to be incredibly stupid to manage to arrive at this position from those priors

because Texas's map is specifically being struck on racial dilution grounds i think this really puts the screws to the Supreme Court, also, because there's basically no way to thread the needle between "California's map is invalid, Texas's isn't" that won't be obvious bullshit

how can it be "anti-Black" for these two candidates (who are hardly the final word on the subject anyways) to not back a Black primary challenger against a Black minority leader. what

the median white person in Alabama almost certainly still supports (a softer, more plausibly deniable form of) segregation and is just straight up a racist in polite, all-white company, and these political beliefs are demonstrably less frequent among non-Southern white people

17.11.2025 17:41 — 👍 8    🔁 1    💬 0    📌 0

"The south is not racist because of its demography" is kind of the ultimate cope for these types of people because in 2024, an estimated 80% of white people voted for Donald Trump in Alabama, Louisiana, and Mississippi and it's generously only 5-10% better in most of the non-Deep South

crazy that they got Patton Oswalt's ass thought for the feet first into a woodchipper comment, which really is not that vitriolic considering that Megyn Kelly is only saying what she is to normalize pedophilic relations and by proxy absolve Donald Trump of being a pedophile

unlike the CENSORIOUS and CONSERVATIVE Bluesky which is run by SNOWFLAKES, on the Website League you will definitely not be banned for reacting to Megyn Kelly’s defense of pedophilia by saying we should [REDACTED] her to a [REDACTED]

When your socialist cash goes to DSA candidates like Robin, good things happen 🌹

Let's make this a reality in Jersey City by electing Joel Brooks and Jake Ephros!

We've got just 3 weeks until their runoff on Dec. 2nd. Send them to office with a donation today ⬇️

13.11.2025 20:42 — 👍 51    🔁 7    💬 1    📌 1

very serious chance that DSA could have a >50% win rate in races it endorses in this year. all it needs to do is sweep its remaining three runoffs (Joel Brooks and Jake Ephros in in Jersey City Council wards B and D; Stephanie Telles in Albuquerque City Council D1) and it'll have 51 wins, 50 losses

That’s why I’m excited to announce that I’ll be bringing forward a proposal to formally establish a Democratic Socialist Caucus within the City Council — and I will be running to lead it.

or all of the people who want it to fundamentally change the artistic process and how one must engage with it (whether they actually consent to this or not)? and who want to use your artistry to train something that exists only to push out endless, bottom of the barrel slop?

"what distinguishes ai from other deskilling inventions" aside from all of the people who push it to do stuff like surveillance, racial profiling, phrenology, border control and security, data collection and synthesis? or who want it to enforce a global, social panopticon?

in a very literal sense they are the "live in the pod, eat the bugs, consume the slop, nothing better is possible" guys. the endgame is to grind the 'degenerate' and 'inferior' social classes into paste and to make money off of this paste by any and all means necessary until everything collapses

at its core AI is fascist because what AI boosters ultimately want is total deskilling of the economy (and the broader immiseration of social, creative, and industrial labor) in favor of the empowerment of a feudal, technocratic class that feasts on the surplus labor and creativity of this situation
