this is literally the most socialist congressional district in the country (and it's not close), expect this to completely upend NYC-DSA's electoral calculations and for a cadre member to run. no fewer than seven DSA elected officials represent some part of this district at another level of gov't

The best thing that we could do for indigenous people would be to end all tribal land designations and encourage them to relocate + integrate to modern society (funded by the government) The two tier system is horrible for native people, dooms them to poverty and subjugation

NYC-DSA will be considering an endorsement of Chi Ossé's run for NY-08 today and—while i support Chi's run otherwise—i completely oppose an endorsement of that run by NYC-DSA. i think endorsing him would be a serious, unforced error, and i hope you agree:

the error of logic here is almost comedically simple: where do people want to live? and the answer is the "cherry-picked places" where housing prices are high, because the correlation between high-demand places and job opportunities/economic advancement/general productivity is overwhelming

somehow, Will Stancil has arrived at the "there is no housing crisis, there are enough homes for everyone" position from a YIMBY perspective. honest to god might be a first-ever occurrence online, because you have to be incredibly stupid to manage to arrive at this position from those priors

because Texas's map is specifically being struck on racial dilution grounds i think this really puts the screws to the Supreme Court, also, because there's basically no way to thread the needle between "California's map is invalid, Texas's isn't" that won't be obvious bullshit

"The south is not racist because of its demography" is kind of the ultimate cope for these types of people because in 2024, an estimated 80% of white people voted for Donald Trump in Alabama, Louisiana, and Mississippi and it's generously only 5-10% better in most of the non-Deep South

this is like asking what distinguishes a spear from a nuclear weapon

or all of the people who want it to fundamentally change the artistic process and how one must engage with it (whether they actually consent to this or not)? and who want to use your artistry to train something that exists only to push out endless, bottom of the barrel slop?

"what distinguishes ai from other deskilling inventions" aside from all of the people who push it to do stuff like surveillance, racial profiling, phrenology, border control and security, data collection and synthesis? or who want it to enforce a global, social panopticon?

in a very literal sense they are the "live in the pod, eat the bugs, consume the slop, nothing better is possible" guys. the endgame is to grind the 'degenerate' and 'inferior' social classes into paste and to make money off of this paste by any and all means necessary until everything collapses

at its core AI is fascist because what AI boosters ultimately want is total deskilling of the economy (and the broader immiseration of social, creative, and industrial labor) in favor of the empowerment of a feudal, technocratic class that feasts on the surplus labor and creativity of this situation
