It's like those Star Wars lore building stories after the original trilogy, where empire admin are still fiercely loyal or carrying out long defunct orders despite the top going eerily silent.

Almost like "Just following orders" has been a cautionary tale with a rich historical tapestry...

So enamoured by games, I wanted to make them.

Turns out that the software and technology is very expensive.

Occasionally dabble in programming, but my focus turns to writing, as telling stories is just as good.

Get discouraged at pretty much every turn by family.

Yay, I can now afford the tech.

*Dozens of smaller dinosaurs move in to attack*

Oh the blades, memories. I didn’t have internet when I first got an Xbox360. I was stuck with default everything. I even borrowed someone’s internet so I could download Symphony of the Night. 😂

But yeah, I loved the option to play my own music, even though it’s become surprisingly redundant.

She did her job though. I had loaned my PS3 to my father in what would become the last few years of his life. He got to enjoy the next generation of consoles before he passed. I still have some of his PS3 games. Not my taste, but at least I have a story to tell when someone wonders.

I bought a second console, but got so paranoid, I ended up buying a newer elite series when money allowed. But yeah, what sucked is that my PS3 also kicked the proverbial bucket, I heard loud popping noises, then one day, it wouldn’t turn on. 😩

The RROD was scary. I read about it in a magazine and I was warned about early adopters suffering it. I got an Xbox360 a few months after release so I thought I was good… Oh poor naive Abye. Call of Duty 4 began to chug, Red Dead Redemption (ironically) skipped cutscenes… Then *blep* dead console.

It felt so revolutionary at the time, and a step up from the PS2. Elder Scrolls Oblivion felt like a breathing world where wandering brought its own rewards (at the cost of main story progress, gulp). The likes of Dead Rising shown how densely packed a game world can be with enemies and weapons.

(I have to admit though, this is slightly not random as I didn’t want to do a Capcom game for the third week… In the three weeks of doing this. It does not help that a huge chunk of my physical collection are Capcom titles…)

Yeah, the rainfall mechanic was seemingly redundant in a genre famous for encouraging evasion over combat. But there’s an edge of creepiness, such as loading screen messages depending on player health, and an antagonist who is thankfully NOT PYRAMID HEAD (That was James’ thing!)

#RandomGameSaturday At the risk of being exiled… I liked Silent Hill Downpour. It may not hold a candle to the likes of the original trilogy, but it did a lot of things right. Endings shaped by how the character acts. Side quests that flesh out the town and give us insight to Murphy’s character.

I think the name lends itself well to the character, especially the remake version, as this creature is pretty much forced to act human with a clearly sculpted face and clothing to match. To give him a human title and "X" moniker treats him as something in the human sphere, but isn't.

I know Mr X is purely a fan name that's been bouncing around since the game's initial release, and his official name is "Tyrant" and "Super Tyrant", with his number designation being on the capsule he was dropped from... But when you have a dozen or so Tyrant variants, a distinction has to be made.

I know I'm probably going to eventually drop Resident Evil Survival Unit like I inevitably do with every microtransaction riddled game, but it won't stop me being amused by it in the meantime.

I love how Capcom is insisting we call him "Tyrant" and not "Mr X" like the fans have been doing.

Evil Dead 2. After seeing the Evil Force literally in the flesh, the pot of flowers next to Ash's head wilts as he himself gains a streak of grey/white hair above his ear.

An endless well of charisma meeting with an endless void of charisma, I can just imagine poor Zohran having the life drained from him and developing a grey streak in his hair, like when Ash Williams saw evil given flesh...

I got "Well ackshully"d on Twitter for saying how fond I was of Harmony of Dissonance. I'm surprised to see how much of a black sheep it is within the Castlevania fandom. I loved the connection feature, even though it was pretty rare. Getting bonus items in Castlevania Judgment with an Order of Ecclesia save.

Not to mention the GBA compatibility. I had a lot of fun with the GBA Castlevania titles along with Metroid Fusion and Zero Mission.

Lots of happy DS memories.

Dawn of Sorrow was the first Castlevania game I had ever finished and my first DS game. I got through some cold work nights playing Order of Ecclesia, GTA Chinatown Wars and Dr Kawashima's Brain Training.

Idling on The World Ends With You for the bonus pins too. :D

I've seen this circulating, and what I appreciate about it is how people are having fun with it, but they're also acknowledging how difficult it is to do with plenty providing their own advice on perspective.

I have a lot of missed time to make up for. I played Legend of Zelda Link to the Past on the WiiU eShop. Beautiful game. I’ve bought a few compilations on other systems I’ve been meaning to get through, namely Super Castlevania IV and the Mega Man collections.
