I'm in the UK! Cat & nature lover. Truth seeker, not scaremonger. Not a fan of Tories, nor of racism, Brexit & right wing ideology. Pragmatic..this is the real world (sadly).

I doubt they could foresee he would hand govt information to Epstein!
I think he was chosen in spite of his reputation as someone on the same wavelength as the unpredictable & equally unsavoury associations. Takes one to know one.
Turns out it backfired.

This story, fake or otherwise, doesn't need to be repeatedly mentioned by those who don't have a good opinion of Polanski. He's quite capable of making a fool of himself without it.

As a potential ambassador to the current POTUS, it takes one to know one.

Not surprised you're on it like a pouncing cat. He is no longer in the govt & the PM wants him to be kicked out of the HoL. He was probably chosen as US ambassador because it's difficult to negotiate sensibly with a lunatic, & Mandelson is on the same wavelength! These are new accusations too.

I'm not bothered either way tbh.

I'm not sure there are any totally 'good guys' in politics, but whatever his flaws Starmer is not responsible for Mandelson's past misdemeanours. It's not fantasising to realise that Starmer's govt is the most stable we've had in years, & if you don't (or won't) see it you're not looking hard enough

03.02.2026 11:47 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Morning all.
I'd like to remind people, especially political point scoring Badenoch, that Starmer is not mentioned in the Epstein files. He's not the perpetrator!
Mandelson is no longer in the party & Starmer has called for him to be kicked out of the Lords.

Some others are in bubbles of their own, refusing to let them burst so they can actually hear how misguided they are about the actual reality of the most capable govt we've had in years.
Like all PMs before him, Starmer makes mistakes. But he's currently the best option we have for our country.

Mandelson & Trump are two of a kind. Who better to approach negations with a madman than another on the same wavelength I suppose 🀷.

02.02.2026 18:16 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

His appointment has turned out to be a mistake & he's no longer in the party, & hopefully out of the Lord's too, as Starmer has called for.
My own feeling is that Mandelson was put in as negotiator with Trump because it takes one to know one! They were in the same wavelength.

The Labour is to update disciplinary procedures in the Lords to be able to deal with not just Peter Mandelson, but all wrong doing.

They are calling on all parties, especially the largest group in the Lords - the Tories, to work with the government to enable these changes to go through.

How can they? That's so provocative, & while we all know it would happen, it hasn't actually been done yet.

Glad he's gone.
I think he was given a job dealing with Trump because the two have so much in common, & Trump loves arse lickers

All brown people will be affected though.
What a conversation to be having though...the future of UK brown people under a racist con man running for PM 🀦

So you're saying it's non Muslim Indian voters who support Farage because of tensions abroad?
He'll still be coming for them if he ever gets into office!

Sometimes you have to put the other side of the story out there.
This is one of those times.

I think we already realise that Google 'snoops' on our every deed.
Installed a game the other day from Play Store, then went on YouTube & lo and behold an ad for the same game.
That's just the way it is 🀷

Why on earth would anyone with brown skin support this racist con man?
Our Indian communities usually have more sense & self respect.

Labour in government

Still a long way to go on the manifesto work though.

But all the info I would put into an article about this last week available across the various worksheets in my 'Labour in government' file.

Happy Sunday evening!

I've not put together a Substack article listing all what Labour have done this week - even though there has been as much as ever.

Instead, I've spent a few hours looking over the mainfesto and linking up the promises with what is actually being done.
