Some listeners & SWs have a problem with working-class characters. They assume they’re unintelligent, feckless and even unhygienic. It’s an issue in the graduate classes in the UK generally.

I think the writers get around £1100 per episode which is their union rate. I’m sure there’s much more work in episodes and I can imagine, but I think that fee merits the minimum professionalism of doing a bit of googling. #TheArchers
