I watched The Princess Bride again today, and I realized something: I hate the "revenge is bad" trope that most stories preach. I want you to watch that movie and tell me "I want my father back, you son of a bitch" isn't one of the greatest lines in cinema. Bring back satisfying revenge stories!

Don't get me wrong, petty revenge is a genuinely bad thing, both in real life and in writing. But the kind of revenge like Inigo Montoya sought? That was justice. He was better off for having succeeded in it. If he hadn't done it, the six fingered man would likely have gotten off scot-free.
