I think the front-facing 70% of the game is fun. It's got a lot of personality and I do like the world designs. But I can't help but feel the last 3 worlds kinda soured the experience a bit. Let's just say I now have a deep hatred for the engine room in Rusty Bucket Bay.

I needed a zero z-fighting solution to these shutters on the birdhouses closing/opening.

Instead of moving an actual object behind the wall I used a workaround that moves a texture modeled onto it in a way that gives the same impression visually without moving any geometry.

TetraPHONG

A simple, but versatile nodegroup combining diffuse and specular shading with full support for Cycles and EEVEE.

The Cycles version of TetraPhong supports anisotropic highlights for surfaces such as metal, hair or satin, and it also supports full, proper raytracing.

While the EEVEE version lacks these features, it does include an optional coat for screenspace raytracing. Its diffuse and specular components will also render perfectly fine in Cycles.

Getting my bearings with doing more vertex painting and touched up parts of the coastlands with some mixed shading along some of the cliffs and underneath some rocks and ruins blocks. Really makes my textures feel more organic right away. #gamedev #godot #indiedev
