There’s been times in my life where I took a calculated action, failed, and wished I had done something else instead since the “popular” option failed. Unfortunately that’s just not how life works. It’s having your cake and eating it too. If this is too nuanced for you idk what else to say.

This is exactly what I meant by Monday morning quarterback. It’s easy to say “she should’ve done X” after we know the outcome. At the time, the only viable strategy was coalition-building. She lost because turnout failed, not because she tried to appeal beyond one wing of the party.

You’re operating under the assumption that the majority of democratic voters is progressive, which is flat out wrong. Also, it’s a big time Monday morning quarterback statement to say she would have been better off with a strictly democratic policy instead of bipartisanship.

We were enthusiastic about her because we knew the consequences of her losing. Also to be fair she wasn’t even a bad candidate. If you ask a conservative what her policies were, they can’t name any. Do you think it mattered to them who our candidate was? We failed our country by not showing up.
