A lot of people think that every international student admitted means one fewer spot for domestic students, when the opposite is more likely true - the tuition revenue international students bring allows public universities to provide substantial discounts to domestic students, improving access.

One of the funniest bits I ever saw was when the Man Show interviewed people on the street about their attitude towards women's suffrage.

(Everyone was against it, apparently not having any idea what they were being asked.)

Increasingly convinced the main damage cell phones have done to creativity isn't decreased attention spans or what not but the elimination of productive boredom. Inspiration comes from the mind filling the void inside. Hard to make art when you're constantly silencing the silence with "content."

We have to reset our priorities from top to bottom.

We have all this amazing tech and we have a lot of elderly people who want to live independent and fulfilling lives, and there does not seem to be much in the way overlap. Even basic usability for everyday tech is completely overlooked. What even is the fucking point of tech if it doesn't help?

I've made LED strips that are 50m long, so hit me up if you run into any problems. Signal degradation shouldn't be a problem since each neopixel buffers the data line.

What's the wattage of the wall wart? Might need something that can supply more current. All those LEDs can draw quite a bit of current and voltage drop along the strip can be an issue too.

True. And at least in my experience (been making PCBs for over 20 years) the quality I get from JLC is better than what I used to get from the US
