Okay, I cannot recommend 5calls.org enough. Enter your address and it will find all your reps (federal and state). AND give you a list of issues to call about AND which reps to call about each of them AND a little script for each, in case it's helpful. They have an app, too.

My hot tip for the day - you can add a lifeline later if you find you need to frog a bunch, it doesn't have to be done on live stitches. Just take a piece of scrap yarn and use a needle to run it through the center of every stitch on the row you want to keep and then frog away!

Our standard for text documents and emails is 12 for accessibility, a bit larger for headers. For text within a video (titles, annotations,etc.) in the 14/16 range. If I'm using 20 it's probably on a printable marketing flyer meant to be viewed at a distance, not something for online.

It would be a fascinating experiment but I think it'd be a very hard sell to implement top-down. However, creating a culture where people routinely ask each other for feedback might start to get at the same results.

Relationships are key to success. Partnering with other teams and being a reliable resource will earn you a lot of social capital that you can use.

Technology changes quickly but the foundations of what makes learning valuable or useful are slower to change. Don't get distracted by the shiny toys.

It gets so much better! The first row is by far the hardest part when you're learning.

Side note, this yarn is the Loops & Threads "Facets" acrylic and it's a huge pain to work with, it's like very thin unspun roving. The colors are gorgeous but I do not recommend the yarn.

Basic tunisian stitch is definitely thicker than basic knitting. Tunisian has a kind of squishy plush feeling to it that I think knitting doesn't unless you're doing some fancy stitches.

I love that grid element of tunisian crochet, I find it so much easier to cross stitch patterns on top than to work them directly into the piece.

I'd agree with that element of fear, if the SMEs can do stuff that's 'good enough' then what purpose do we have? I'm also guilty of forgetting the adage "don't let the perfect be the enemy of the done" and getting stuck on a single perfect (in my mind) approach.

Low-tech online learning is also more accessible to our staff working in places with low bandwidth or unreliable network connections. Flashy tools are useless if your content won't load for your learner.
