That is an EXCELLENT idea.

So it happened, and he says he didn't know who did it.
Then he says whenever it happens, he'll know who did it.
So he sabotages his own credibility in the span of 15 seconds. Wow.

And while we're at it, do what we should have done in 2024 - cut the powers of the Executive branch of the government way back. It's too much consolidated power, ripe for abuse.

For the CEOs and university presidents and other responsible leaders who have been biding their time and waiting for him to cross the magic red line before speaking up, maybe when he starts arresting Senators is a good time to get off the fucking sidelines.

Frankly I'd take Eaton over Kiner-Falefa. Kiner-Falefa's ceiling and floor are well established by now, and they're not spectacular. If Eaton's ceiling is what he showed last September, I think he's worth the gamble for the Red Sox. Better bat and baserunning.

There's talk of platooning Romy Gonzalez with Hamilton or Mayer to fill one infield spot for the Red Sox, but with his MLB-average OPS and wRC+ against righties last year, he's grown beyond the need for platooning. He also hits much better when played regularly. Make Romy a full-timer!

As for Casas, I'll gladly take 2023 all over again. But I suspect he starts the season in AAA what with Contreras in place, and Casas having been away from the game for so long, plus having a pattern of slow starts. Hopefully he finds it again there and becomes impossible to keep down.

I was a huge fan of Campbell in 2024 and was predicting big things for him in the majors, but I must say my confidence in him has been shaken. Right now I consider him unproven. My intuition says he doesn't start flashing his true potential until the 2027 season. 2026 will be a season of discovery.

He's close to average as a fielder at multiple positions. A fast runner, though he hasn't translated that into baserunning success. His hard hit rate last year was exceeded only by Anthony, Schwarber, Judge, and Ohtani. If he can raise his very low launch angle, he'll tap into big power.

Romy is better than people realize. Many still think he's just a platoon bat, but he was league-average against righties last year, while facing them far more than he ever has.
If you adjust his stats to where he has a Red Sox or MLB average ratio of RHP to LHP faced, you get these good numbers.

this crystallizes why, despite truly heroic solidarity and activism, i can’t quite get in the “we’re going to win” mindset right now. the harm is so active and there’s so much violence we don’t even know about. people are being turned into ghosts.

Romy Gonzalez made a huge step forward at the plate in 2025. If you shrug off what he did as benefitting by platoon, here's what happens if you scale up his numbers against RHP to have the same ratio to LHP as full-time players have (2.9). That 2025 OPS beats 60% of full time players.
