In the Future All Food Will Be Cooked in a Microwave, and if You Can’t Deal With That Then You Need to Get Out of the Kitchen As a restaurant owner - I'm astounded at the rate of progress since microwaves were released a few short years ago. Today's microwave can cook a frozen burrito. Tomorrow's microwave will be able to cook an entire Thanksgiving Dinner. Ten years from now a microwave may even be able to run the country. Recently I was watching a livestream of a local microwave salesman.

The Mothership Vortex: An Investigation Into the Firm at the Heart of the Democratic Spam Machine How a single consulting firm extracted $282 million from a network of spam PACs while delivering just $11 million to actual campaigns.

The annoying spam texts destroying the Democratic brand:

$678M raised through those spam tactics

$282M to one consulting firm: Mothership Strategies.

$11M to actual campaigns (1.6%)

The party isn’t just treating donors like marks—it’s being fleeced itself yet continues to back Mothership.

I love when I can see the work in a piece of art. Practical effects in film, brush strokes on canvas, strange sounds in music, "impossible" visuals in games. It puts me in conversation with the artist. That's why - ethics aside - art created with AI is just so disappointing. There's no work to see.

I’m not trying to pick a fight with you specifically but that is talking around the point. Dishonest creative accounting to CYA is dishonest creative accounting to CYA.

Yeah man, this is *nothing like* Obama cooking the shit out of unemployment numbers by eliminating people who had been out of work for so long that they had stopped looking from the count. *That* is super good government data that you can and should believe.

Sadly the project I've been working on lost funding and I've been laid off, alongside ~half of my (very skilled) teammates of various disciplines.
So I'm on the hunt for new work!

If you know of any open game art positions, please send them my way! Attaching my linkedin here in case that helps.

#OTD in 1980, #Carter signed the #CWRIC Act, leading to truth: #JapaneseAmerican incarceration was driven by "race prejudice, war hysteria, and failed leadership" — not military necessity. May this precedent pave the way for justice for all harmed communities.

Corporations are actively trying to destroy art because art is unproductive and not lucrative

I missed out on the first Josh Freese era of NIN with, like, surgical precision. I saw them with Jerome Dillon for Fragility and phase 1 of With Teeth and then didn’t see them again until they had Ilan for Wave Goodbye. So I’m fucking stoked for this!!

This whole show was such a treat. Kid Koala was working his ASS off all night, doing two whole sets. Here's a face-melting clip of his earlier set with Lealani. I've always admired him for his progressive aspects but I didn't realize until last night that he can be an absolute party-rockin DJ too.

Still absolutely trippin that we got to see Deltron 3030 do "Clint Eastwood" as the encore for doing their whole debut record front-to-back last night. I didn't realize until now how intertwined the fates of the Deltron and Gorillaz S/T records were. What a thrill to hear these iconic verses live.

Hey Bluesky, what offputting edgy art should I make with the dental casts that were created for my old night guard?

In honor of Mario Paint arriving on Switch, here is a very dumb movie I made with Mario Paint when I was a kid. You could only make/save one short little animation loop at a time, so to put a story together I had to make each shot and record them one by one on an old Betamax VCR.

Man, I forgot how hard this track slaps. I need to listen to this whole From Here to Eternity record at work tomorrow. I used to put this record on sooooo much when I was like 13-14. You can really hear the Kraftwerk.

The kids are alright. I enjoyed flipping thru this photozine created by the WLA/Palisades Teen Councils when I went to the WLA library to hear Eric Nakamura @giantrobot.bsky.social talk about the new book on GR a couple weekends ago. Keep DIY alive, y'all.
