When I turned 30, I thought it would be a good idea to celebrate by trying out all the local pizza places to find the best of the bunch. My intestines were not happy with me.

Got to end my #DnD session on a spooky note. My players were pushing deeper into a trackless swamp when they encountered a two-headed Cyclops building funeral Cairns for two other cyclopes. As they hurried away the two-headed cyclops called out "Beware the Red-Eyed Mimic!"

As the member of my D&D group who is constantly roasted for mispronouncing things, I feel your pain.

Been testing a money/magic item system for #DnD 5e called Pass The Loot in my current game. Today a player randomly rolled a pair of magic halfling pants that gave a +2 to performance. The Special Performance Pants were the star of the session. I think I've got a great idea on my hands.

Diverse in this case meaning "full of secretive dickheads/weirdos with reasons to be mistrustful of strangers baked into their backstories"

My favorite part of the Neverwinter Saga was Drizzt desperately trying to explain alien concepts like 'being kind' and 'giving a shit about others' to his teammates. You've got "The Companions" coming up next, which is one of my favorite books in the whole series!

I started with that too! I borrowed the books from a friend, and that's where he told me to start. The Crystal Shard can be a bit of a slog because Salvatore is still figuring himself out, but Streams of Silver is awesome. I love how alien and creepy he makes the Drow and the Underdark feel.

Did you start with the Icewind Dale Trilogy or the Dark Elf Trilogy?

Feels great to finally finish, doesn't it? What were your high points of the whole saga? I just finished it too, and I wonder how different yours are from mine.

Just when I think I'm out, they pull me back in!

Finally finished The Legend of Drizzt! I wrapped it up in the Great North Woods with the closest thing I could find to Feywine. Two top moments that come to mind are the last Tiago vs. Drizzt fight and Obould's ascension. It was a wild ride from start to finish @rasalvatore.bsky.social !

One of my favorite parts is in the Neverwinter Saga when Drizzt sits Entreri down and tries so hard to explain altruism and empathy to him.

"Just one, just do one nice thing and see how it feels. Just try it. It won't kill you."

Oh that's brilliant. They have some of the best banter in the books.

About to go camping well beyond the reach of cell towers and disconnect for a few days. Wish me luck!

Working on the hub town for my #DnD campaign. Greenhaven is coming along well. Now to fill it specific locations and NPC's.

Been working on using terrain in my #DnD encounters. I found these neat 1 inch counting blocks and used them to make a ruined garden in the mystical Deep Woods. It went pretty well, the druid used the yellow blocks to establish how high he was in bird form.

I wonder where my roommate is...

Put together a bunch of my new Munchkin cards and played them for the first time. If you like Munchkin, get yourself the Double Dungeons expansion. It adds so much to the game!

My book audit has brought me into some philosophical territory. I found a #Lovecraft collection. Do I keep a book I appreciate but don't enjoy? Lovecraft is too bleak for me, but I appreciate his skill and impact. Do I set it loose for someone else to enjoy or keep it around for reference?

Well, not nothing. It does give you a feeling of creeping dread when you watch the news and high blood pressure when people yearn for 'good old days' they weren't around for.

Getting set up for the first session of a new #dnd campaign. It's been a few weeks since we had everyone over and I think the pets are more excited than I am.

Book Audit continues! I know what I'm getting rid of, so now I have to determine what goes on the shelf and what goes into storage. To help with that, I've sorted them into helpful categories like Forgotten Realms, College Books, Fullmetal Alchemist, Religion, General History, Military History, etc
