SEOs who are talking about building a brand online should actually study how brands are built.
It's a well established science with countless academic studies.
And it's absolutely fascinating.

Not been on here much due to a busy week.
4 days in Bali at the SEO Con.
A great event, and I learned loads from the other speakers too.

You end up with 1000 tools that all do the same thing.
It's interesting in some ways. As the cost to build is reducing, I definitely think brand marketing is going to be the dictator.
The tool with the biggest marketing budget and the best marketing team wins.
Tbh, I just don't understand the thought process.
None of them have the funds to build a brand big enough to grow. Especially when large tools can add ai writers inside their products.
The strategy seems destined to fail for 99.9%.
I'm at a genuine loss to explain all these AI writing tools.
There must be hundreds if not thousands of them out there.
All do exactly the same thing.
I'm struggling to see how they'll survive long term.
Too much content written in the name of SEO targets people who aren't buyers.
That same budget would be best spent on PR or content marketing.
I truly feel the words SEO and content need to be divorced.
Do this, and we'll see better content emerge.
If SEOs want to understand brand, PR, fame, and advertising more.
Why Does the Pedlar Sing is a great book.
Because SEOs of the future are going to see the lines between PR, SEO and content blur and merge.
Well, so far, Blue Sky does seem like social media perfection.
Perhaps it's the people and their reasons for coming here.
But so far, so good.
As I just turned 45, I can agree there is a lot of pressure.
Having had 2 careers, police for 20 yrs, SEO for 10. You do start to think more about the future.
From mortgages to pensions, even to older relatives and their care.
The next 15 years are on my mind a lot.
I'm just back from Brighton SEO San Diego.
My mind is buzzing with ideas.
A few thoughts based on talks:
1. AI search engines are easily spammable.
2. AI search engines are not being honest either (providing affiliate links in their SERPs).
Hey Yordan, great to be here.
