Todholm Primary School & ELCC

Todholm ELCC have been learning about the emergency services and had a visit from the local fire brigade. They were amazing and the children were very excited to go into the fire engine, try on the helmet and use the hose. They learned to phone 999 and to are for the fire brigade in an emergency!

P7b have been flying high in gymnastics. We are building on lots of our skills. The box has been where lots of people are challenging themselves and showing great improvement. 🤸‍♀️🤸‍♂️💪

Primary 7 went to Paisley Grammar for a Numeracy and Maths event with other schools. They all worked in groups and did us proud. One of our teams came out on top! ⭐️❤️

P1b had some special visitors from Paisley Grammar this week as part of the Empathy Lab project. They had fun listening to stories and answering different questions that the pupils had prepared.

P1a had a great morning with some of the pupils from Empathy Lab at Paisley Grammar. They came to read to us and let us have a look at their wonderful picture books. We had a great time telling stories!

P6 familiarised ourselves with some classic picture books before creating news reports based on them!

P3b were learning all about the importance of Valentines Day and being kind. We filled each others ‘hearts‘ with compliments to spread kindness and positivity ☺️

P3a have been developing their research skills today. We discussed how to word the questions in a search engine to find the appropriate answer. We learned lots about the rainforest today! 🐸🦎🌿

P4a have been working on practicing our balances in gymnastics 🤸‍♂️. We had to stay very still and control our movements.

P2B Dinosaur Model

P2b were able to colour, cut out and assemble their own dinosaur. Good job P2B!

On Friday, P4-7 took part in workshops organised by Pachedu School of African Cultures. We learned lots about African history and music!

P4b put their history skills to the test! We have been learning about Victorian toys and decided to try out some traditional games. Hoop and stick was a firm favourite! 🧸🪁🪀

As part of our topic P2a made super dinosaurs using paper plates.

P6a cooking club made chicken noodle soup and loved it! ☺️

P3b were learning about ‘drip tips’ as part of our Rainforest topic. We went outside to test different sizes and shapes of leaves and how effective their drip tips were! 🍃 🌳

P5b worked in teams to create obstacle courses using loose parts and then used chalk to add instructions!

P1a tried Peer Reading for the first time today! We are feeling so confident with our reading strategies, we wanted to try them out by reading to each other and helping each other with tricky words. P1a loved reading this way and we will be using it in the future!

P5a have been working hard on our reading this year and have now reached over 3.6 million words read as a class! Our current word champion is Adam with over 363,000 words📚

Primary 4a had an amazing time at Loch Lomond Sea Life Centre! We learned about lots of different sea creatures 🐠🐟🐡 We enjoyed walking through the underwater tunnel and watching all of the animals swim around us!

P4b had the best time at Sea Life Centre Loch Lomond learning all about underwater creatures and their habitats! We saw seahorses, stingrays and even a few sharks! 🐠🐡

P5b have been practising their times table knowledge outside and challenging each other to see who can answer the questions quickest!

P2B Problem Solving

Today, we were developing our problem solving & meta skills, team work and sharing. We played a game of Snakes & Ladders. P2B built different LEGO models to show vehicles in the future! Everyone had lots of fun and shared very well!

In P7A this week, we explored how to form a 3d shape using cardboard without the use of a bond. We continued this outdoors for loose parts to make sculptures for well known landmarks in London- can you guess what they are?

P4b have been learning all about the Victorians. Today, during outdoor time, they were tasked with creating a Victorian classroom, complete with punishments!
