I’ve said that a lot when working on this book. That it feels “unreal” to be bringing this story to existence. The essay continues: “When I see representations of queer people of color in the mainstream, it always felt like something was missing.” Panel 3: Cin being overcrowded by fantastical characters, a robot, a gorilla in a spacesuit, a cat princess, and a woman with a sword. The essay continues: “Especially in stories of happy queer escapism.”

Panel 1: Continuing: “Their stories often revolve around their white queer friends,” A white woman points to herself as her other hand holds a Black woman’s hand. Who is off to the side. The white woman says “This story’s about ME.” While the Black woman says “I’m here too.” Panel 2: Continuing: “They’re stripped of cultural specificity” a white woman shares a meal with a dark skinned hijabi woman. The white woman has a burger while the hijabi woman holds chopsticks, ready to eat her noodles. Past meets present: Cleopatra Fortune Cleopatra Fortune isn't a series Taito kept going back to, but it's still a worthy puzzler.

On the morning of the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, I know exactly what y'all want to read to tide you over. That's right it's Taito's falling block puzzler with a cute mascot, Cleopatra Fortune, which actually started its life not in arcades, but on a Taito-branded karaoke machine.

The first two panels of a comic. The first panel, captioned "A flawless plan," shows my Fallen London character, Samuel, gesturing at a presentation board with a drawing of a large mountain, giant mirrors on each side of the mountain, and a train going through the mirrors labelled "detour through parabola." Second panel, captioned "Everyone loves it!", shows Furnace Anaconda with her arms folded and glaring dubiously out of her helmet, His Amused Lordship waving a hand uncertainly with a noncommittal wince, the Efficient Commissioner with her head in her hands staring with an exasperated, overwhelmed expression, and Virginia the devilless glaring with undisguised disgust.

the third panel of the comic, showing the Bishop of Southwark jumping out of his chair and shouting "Parabola! Perfect! Let us approach Hell by way of the unguarded pass!" With the Jovial Contrarian, smiling slyly, adding "I agree! It's the least costly and most direct. In fact, I propose we do the majority of our travel via Parabola!" Samuel leans in from the side, looking concerned, and adding quietly "Could you two agree with me a little less."

Just install giant mirrors to drive a train through! What could go wrong!!! Samuel is a trustworthy director who makes good decisions and the railway board has total faith in him. I love this game...
