After receiving a 51-page editorial letter from our developmental editor, my cowriter and I decided to sit down and discuss our path forward.

Alas, it does not seem like 2025 will be our year of publication. I can't help but to be disappointed, but there is no going back and no giving up.

Update: I have only cried twice while reading my editor's in-document comments.
