I like that. You are using anything at your disposal to capture the idea/moment/etc so it "exists" to push forward. That definitely feels similar to what I do. Its not always the beginning, but the opening to some event of some kind to take place

Mine always begins in one of my designated notebooks before it is worked further into some cloud or vault that I can easily access from my phone. But I feel like an anomaly.

I think I write grimdark because the butterfly effect of past actions are real and should be seen. Every past action leads to something, either horrific, or beautiful.
