Well that was unpleasant @essexpoliceuk.bsky.social are taking forward as a minor traffic offense and won't give me any further update on the outcome.

It's nearly always a mistake to read the comments on news reports about close passes. Hopefully Newsquest take block this vile account from further comments.

This dangerous close pass was on Argents Lane where a cyclist was killed in a road collision one year ago. When reported to @essexpoliceuk.bsky.social the result was a warning letter. Essex Police are not serious about Vision Zero and protecting cyclists.

Great day supporting my lad at Manchester marathon. Rode 45 on Bromptons on Manchester fantastic cycle network. Now back to Liverpool for the night where it seems quite lively!

In contrast, why this close pass at speed was judged considerate is a complete mystery. Either @essexpoliceuk.bsky.social object to cyclists being two abreast or the magic 8 ball that generates the decisions was playing up.

This wouldn't be too bad at speeds up to 30mph, but on a national speed limit roads it's rubbish. Not worth reporting to @essexpoliceuk.bsky.social as they have become completely unreliable at acting on close passes.

Nice bike shed at the Tin Roof cafe near Maldon. Most cyclists aren’t using it because of the awful racks.

According to the Essex Police Extra Eyes service this isn't a close pass. It's no wonder the @colchestercycling.bsky.social has been forced to declare no confidence in the service.
