07.10.2025 01:10 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Spamton A. Spamton works in mysterious ways, it's probably better not to question it
22.09.2025 09:59 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Ohhh, that's why she acts like that, she accidentally shot herself with her own gay blaster, no wonder
18.09.2025 00:17 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I love when fandom wikis just think of something and roll with it in a trivia section. It's basically the prime section for "idk I think this is right probably" even though there's literally no source or evidence for it
Obviously it comes from a place of love for both things but it's just funny
My doughmoth, Brie, standing at the blue shore of a sunny coast, wearing a white sundress adorned with the pattern of vines with intermittent flowers, and wearing a white sunhat atop her pretzel-braid hair, with her wheatgrain antennae sticking out over top!
This one's been a long-time coming for me personally, but, I finally got a commission of Brie in a proper outfit!
Super super happy with this beautiful piece done by @eviex01.bsky.social, it looks incredible and way better than what I could've imagined on my own!
Ohh, that'd make sense, hope whatever it is you're able to get finished by then as well!
14.08.2025 22:05 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Okay I now realize that "Amy Chen's article" in question is in fact the article I linked above
In which case it would've been nice to source it alongside this post, like you did on the Twitter side of things!
Hey can we get some further context that the Polygon articles that *you guys* cited and partially stoked the flames on all of this because of it actually entirely misrepresented the full quote from the devs, which we now know from this article from esportsgg
esports.gg/news/overwat...
Thank you I''m glad to be a true opinion haver
Also yes!! I think it was in the first notepad gamedev stream? Honestly kinda surprised you recognized me from that of all things lol
Balatro, despite literally being poker, actually has an incredible amount of run control in the form of deckfixing, just like most other deck-based roguelikes (Slay the Spire, for example)
I love games like Haste, Have a Nice Death, Ember Knights, Going Under, they're all great, skill-based games
I've loved Roguelikes for a *while* but I think the most fun ones are the ones that give you some form of control over your run instead of pure luck
Risk of Rain 2 does this really well with Scrappers and Printers, allowing you to control your items and "build" with a bit of luck, for example
Kitsune *could* be explained through some sort of psychological rage/high induced by the Kitsune's powers
It's very much still possible with tech, especially Overwatch's incredibly futuristic tech, it's just that we've never gotten an actual explanation on it that makes it weird
For the record, here's the two articles in question
Left: www.polygon.com/overwatch-2-...
Right: www.polygon.com/overwatch-2-...
Unless we get a full quote from Daryl I'm not trusting what a Polygon writer who can't even research if Aaron Keller is still the Game Director says about Daryl's words.
Like, maybe Daryl DID say that they wanted to move towards conventionally attractive characters, but the lack of a full quote and the poor research from the writer on another article makes me think this is an attempt to sensationalize the interview to bait interactions, which is very much has done
14.08.2025 04:23 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Hey can we maybe talk about how the "oddballs" quote is entirely lacking context on the full quote from Daryl, as only the word "oddballs" is quoted
And also the fact the person who wrote that article also wrote an article that calls Aaron Keller "former game director", showing his poor research?
I have yet to get a piece with my Brie actually clothed in her normal moth form, so this'll have to do! Hoping this is a fun pick if you do choose me!
08.08.2025 07:35 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Should probably make a followup post here highlighting that it wasn't intentional in case people are thinking this is the OW team's doing when it wasn't
08.08.2025 02:09 โ ๐ 8 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Stadium has a separate team so it can receive the large amounts of care and attention it requires to stay significant as a major, core gamemode, without impacting the level of development given to the rest of the core game, especially given it needs just as much attention as the core game
04.08.2025 11:29 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Focusing attention on those niche gamemodes that only a fraction of the playerbase focus their time into just isn't worth it compared to focusing on the core of the game
Should they bring back Copa Lucioball? Probably, it'd be fun. Should they develop more maps for a two-week gamemode? Probably not
Yeah, and they prefer to pay attention to the core modes of the game since that is where a vast majority of players play, instead of the rather small, niche group of players that play modes like DM/MH or arcade modes
(Stadium is exempt from this cause, again, it has its own dev team to work on it)
They reran comp CTF and did comp DM/MH in OW2 and all three of them had pretty dead queues by the end of their season, I think they stopped running them because it split the queues too hard while they were live, and now that Stadium is here it definitely isn't worth it to do niche arcade comp modes
04.08.2025 10:46 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I'd say "Liken to TF2" is a bit of an understatement. The map to me just screams out that it's heavily inspired by TF2's Hightower map, which makes sense considering the map is known for being PLR
I honestly love how clearly inspired it is, too, that inspiration being so blatant is so cool to see
They played a match of Stadium on the S18 patch to end OWCS off, and the new map (Powder Keg Mines) was included in that match
It does seem to have a timer, thankfully, from the screenshots I've seen
Stadium has a separate team so it has little to no impact on the main game's development
PvE was cancelled entirely in early 2024 after the entire PvE team was laid off, and DM/CTF are just extra sidemodes that've never had real serious attention paid to them since they're basically arcade modes
i worked with our director RJ to put together a web page compiling phone numbers, emails, and petitions where you can make your voice heard - protect queer artists and sex workers and tell payment processing companies to end their awful policies harming safe spaces for creative art

And now I'm wondering if that little freak Spamton stole that character's theme as well
