Make sure you read the report about how Stephen Miller deported Waco's favorite Mexican restaurant owner.

XAI’s financing would be split between about $7.5 billion of equity and as much as $12.5 billion of debt in the SPV, the people said. The vehicle will be used to buy Nvidia processors, and Musk’s artificial intelligence startup would then rent the chips out for five years, allowing Wall Street financiers to recoup their investment. The unique deal structure, backed by the GPUs as opposed to the company, could provide a playbook for tech firms looking to decrease debt exposure.

A bunch of these circular AI deals are treating GPUs like they're real estate or Treasury bonds or something, rather than rapidly depreciating equipment with a high risk of obsolescence well within 5 years due to energy inefficiency and rising electricity costs.

Well now he’s coming up again, the only question is if there will be anyone on base.

More small sample-size madness: because the Yankee bullpen has succeeded since Rodon was lifted they trust them to get 6 more outs.

By getting through Kirk and Varsho immediately after they can hope to avoid him one more time tonight,

I follow joshtpm@bluesky.social and other members of the tpm@bluesky.social staff because I want to know the latest on the defilement of our democracy. And then I get blocked by one of them for making a totally anodyne point about the vagaries of small-sample size data in playoff baseball.

Seriously he blocked me for noting small sample size data, which inevitably and unfairly drives narrative.

There is nothing more hilarious than a thin-skinned Yankee fan who cannot accept facts about small-sample sizes suck variances.

I’m telling you what happened. Small sample sizes are incredibly misleading— but the entire postseason is small sample sizes. He, Rice, and Stanton had the worst WPA in the first two games of this series essentially because they couldn’t produce with men on base.

He’s always managed elimination games as if it’s still the regular season.

He finally got a hit in a leverage PA in this year’s short sample size.

He had been one of the worst in the lineup in the previous 5 games in ‘25 in those situations, with that bases-loaded 0 out K in this series the biggest reason for it.

It isn’t surprising that this would be happening with a 79-year-old man. The crazy and dangerous part is that there’s an entire political movement and media ecosystem that rationalizes, justifies, and tries to retroactively validate every synapse misfire that escapes his mouth.

Can't disagree with this @economist.com take on our dismal MAGA future: "Closing the borders could end up being the most significant of all Donald Trump’s economic moves. It is likely to make the country smaller, poorer and less innovative." view.e.economist.com?qs=f6418aacd...

This framing is a perfect example of the constant “it only ratchets up” criminal justice coverage from mainstream media.

No focus on the fact that Trump’s premise is a lie, but a “gotcha” that Trump’s inane “there’s no crime” comments are not factually correct.

whats the point in "dealing" with the Trump administration when this is the person executing the deal, and is openly promising to violate the laws and break any agreeement? If you want to bargain for something in the shutdown fight, make firing Vought a condition of any funding package.

As a news nerd I'm always fascinated by org charts, and to me even more telling than who Bari reports to is who will report to her. Troops, territory and budgets are the actual stuff that shapes news coverage. Controlling them is how you control the narrative a news org shapes.

One should assume, if one had not already, that every single thing the GOP has to say about pretty much anything is a lie or fabrication.

I know it's tiresome to play the "imagine if the parties were reversed" game, but thinking about how Republicans (and right-wing media) would be reacting if a Democratic-controlled House was refusing to swear in a newly elected *Republican* member may be the apotheosis of this particular meme.
