Same again next year? 🫑

Safe to say that English leg spinners haven't fared particularly well in Australia 😬

That said I would love to see Rehan get a run in the white ball sides. So much fun and incredibly talented

Didn't like Baker trying to bowl Yorkers with mid off and mid on both in the circle πŸ˜…

Great captaincy from Bethell, you learn more by Sonny Baker bowling this final over than Luke Wood

Is Jordan Cox actually cursed? Possibly injured while taking a catch.

Think that's the 3rd time he's been injured on England duty

That shot from Sibley is exactly how they set up slip catching practice before play. Got in a horrible position

Carse bowling 87mph and looking slow compared to Jofra at the other end 😳

Safe to say I had a decent week on @thecricketdraft.bsky.social

I'll take that with basically nothing from my bowling attack πŸ’ͺ🏻

It's taken the rest of the week and I still haven't come to terms with England's implosion at the Oval.

Wonderful test, Siraj was brilliant but that is an all-time fumble. I don't really remember a moment that looked too big for this Bazball side... This test is one of them

Thomas Rew making noise in the One Day Cup is no surprise having seen him in the England u19 series vs India. His natural game suits the 50-over format.

Would not shock me one little bit if he gets a game for England before James Rew

I agree and this series illustrates my point. Two 100s, a 99 and then only one other score above 23.

With the media coverage in this country he's going to get buried for getting out in non traditional ways.

I see him scoring 25+ Test centuries and yet some feeling unfulfilled

Catching up with today's highlights - Brook is some talent. He is going to have a career littered with ridiculous centuries and low scores if this is the way he continues to bat.

Frustrating when it goes wrong but it's going to be one hell of a career highlight reel

5th championship πŸ’― of the season for Rehan Ahmed. His transformation into a top order batter is nothing short of outstanding

The more the injuries take their toll the better Ben Stokes the bowler becomes.

Consistently looks the most likely to take wickets

24.07.2025 11:35 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Quite possibly. Rew has been all over the batting order in the Lions so he seems to be the one that will have to bend into a role (if one becomes available).

Rew Jnr is much more England's style having watched him on Monday Vs India u19s

11.07.2025 12:34 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

I've never liked the strategy of just sitting in and "playing proper cricket". If you don't get bad balls to hit away then eventually this attack will bowl a ball that will get you out.

As we saw in the 2nd Test, defensive sturdiness doesn't work for this team. Less said about MV the better

11.07.2025 12:23 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

It's classic fandom for Jamie Smith to be absolutely nailing the role he's been selected for and everyone wanting him to move up the order + not keep wicket

He is one of the pieces that is clicking in the team. I'm sure he'd succeed at 3 but we know he's a game changer at 7

11.07.2025 12:19 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

With the complete erosion of Woakes as a batter, Carse can really nail his spot in the XI by being a source of runs down the order.

Smith has played the role perfectly in his career so far but will need support

11.07.2025 11:07 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

An over of absolutely everything.

1st ball - Beats edge
2 - poor ball into the pads, 4 runs.
3 - bad ball down the leg side, wicket.
4 - Wider delivery, dropped catch (poor ball and shot)
5 - decent length
6 - Snorter and good enough to get anyone out

10.07.2025 11:18 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

That average is heading in the right direction then haha. His average of 43.06 Vs Australia is definitely carrying a lot of weight.

A lot of stock has been put into that one score of 77 in the 2021-22 Ashes

10.07.2025 11:06 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

πŸ˜‚ I think that shows part of the problem, if they drop Crawley then the best options are also inconsistent or have been tried and discarded.

In any other era he would have been dropped a long time ago

10.07.2025 10:39 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Stokes bowing to public pressure by batting first! Probably 20 tests away from getting Bashir, Crawley and Pope dropped... Stick with it traditional media and angry people on social media. You're almost there πŸ˜‚

Fantastic day commentating on the next generation. Dominant display by England u19s Vs India u19s.

There's some serious talent out there. Can't remember a 14 year old with the pull of Vaibhav Suryavanshi... 30,000 watching him bat 😳

England with historic nonsense
