Allison’s Bootleg Cart

Allison has made a Game Boy cart based around the RP2040. The RP2040 acts as a MBC!
The documentation is freaking fantastic and Allison has released the files under the CC BY-NC-SA license

If we can lobby GitHub to allow the KiCanvas embed on READMEs that would be my dream.

OpenOCD such a great tool but the development really is a hot mess. It is relied upon by so many projects, but still hosted on SOURCEFORGE. Every vendor is maintaining their own fork and nothing seems to get upstreamed. I don't know who the core maintainers are, but something has to change.

I'm stoked to have finally finished the Kawaii, a fully functional metal Wii keychain. It's way smaller than it looksβ€” only as big as a Game Boy cartridge! ✨🟦✨

Huge thanks to @weskmods.bsky.social and @dingding-cnc.bsky.social for being awesome project partners!

The Nintendo Kawaii, a collaboration project between myself, @mks.bsky.social and @dingding-cnc.bsky.social has finally been released fully open source!

If you're brave enough to build one you'll have one of the most unique pieces of gaming jewellery ever.

Great choice of test game! I’m so glad I made the JST connector work for both the flashing and the GameCube connector, it looks like it makes flashing multiple boards much simpler.

This is awesome. Are you parsing the SI data and then using tinyusb or similar to send USB-HID reports?

Thanks! I just checked the datasheet for that module and the CTUNE value is also identical to the rf-bm-bg22c3, which is great news. I think I have a couple of these modules, I'm going to try a range comparison.

WavePhoenix Receiver with raw PCBs behind it.

Finally put together my first completed WavePhoenix, a replacement receiver for the GameCube Wavebird controller. I modified @loopj.com's original pcb design to use an alternate package, as the recommended one was completely out of stock. Works perfectly!

LOVE the color scheme. What module did you use? I might have to check the CTUNE settings for that module to make sure it has good wireless performance.

1/6 I finally decided to stop procrastinating and get on with assembling some @loopj.com WavePhoenix receivers. This thread will show you my journey.
I started by tinning the pads on 6 PCBs and the 6 EFR32 MCUs I had. πŸ§΅πŸ‘‡

When I reached out to RF Star they said they would sell the modules directly in MOQ of 100 modules and pre-flash them with firmware. I initially considered doing a small run myself and having the modules consigned to JLCPCB.
