The difference between UK and North America are really highlighted in this article: www.londoncentric.media/p/asif-aziz-...

It's like riding through Richmond, it's easier to point out where the potholes aren't.

Seeing a child (4ish) with a punisher T-shirt on was a bit disappointing.

How sick do you have to be to threaten a family who try to celebrate the life & loss of their child?
This behavior is far more damaging to society than any "woke agenda".

I'm not a lawyer but the fact that So MANY employees flagged it for concern and the company did nothing seems to open them up to be liable for not taking action.

certainly puts the lie to the idea that their oversight is anything but performative

I'm an absolutest so not only do I believe politicians must tell us the truth, if we ask the politician not to be honest the politician must still tell us the truth anyway because it's the right/necessary thing to do.
Basically, I don't believe citizens get a choice in the way politicians must act.

Being decent isn't very hard, this really highlights that many companies flat out choose profit over customer satisfaction, otherwise all companies would recognize the social value of stakeholder engagement.

I take issue with the line "Greater GREATER Washington" for obvious reasons

Very good point, the psycho/socia-paths have all maneuvered themselves into rolls that keep them in power/control but with free time to do crimes. I bet the world would barely skip a beat if they all went to prison tomorrow.

But bots will generate false views on ads allowing you to artificially charge advertisers more money for less engagement...
Oh right, no that's all the gross for-profit socials.

Exactly what I was thinking, at the moment of grief it may look appealing but I think 99% of people generally will agree this is a terrible idea.

We had "cider, I hardly knew 'er" on at the pub last week. The name was written by a trans person so I feel like it's an OK joke, whereas if a straight, white old dude like me makes that joke it's assumed to be dirty.

Oh oh oh! Not to mention the AI hallucinations. I'm fully expecting ghostly AI's that say "it was really good to see you at the park yesterday", creeping users out because they were in fact at the park and Facebook used location data to generate a hallucination on behalf of a dead person.

17.02.2026 13:14 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

I think we all knew this was coming. The question is, who would ever want it? No family or friend wants to see posts or chat with a dead person. Other than trolling spammers and wasting bandwidth there is zero value add here.

Suddenly AI generated software engineering might start costing Β£50/hour, which is pretty close to the human cost.
So, it'd be really funny if human written code and human generated art was actually the cheap option. But I could foresee a future where this is the case.

So, a bunch of places are putting a stop/hold on data centers while we figure out the true impact and cost of this stuff.
Wouldn't it be funny if gov starts charging for the true impact and that cost is passed on to the consumer.
