For the cynics who think it doesn’t matter, that the compensation for authors whose work was stolen will be so low it’s not worth fighting, I personally think it’s worth making the monetary punitive damage these companies suffer as big as possible to deter similar theft in the future.

What a knob! Putting yourself out there is sure to provide you with plenty of chuckle and eye roll worthy tales to tell, at the very least 😄

Three novels are pulled to the front of a bookshelf filled with other novels. These three are my thrift finds from yesterday, 2 historical fiction and one semi historical but more literary fiction that I've had my eye on. Very good condition, too! There's The Masterpiece, The Rose Code, and Life After Life.

I started this recently published suspense novel 🙃 It's good so far, in that I am definitely curious about where it's going at a bit more than halfway through it. I don't care for the transitions between the 3 characters, though & struggle to identify why exactly 🤷‍♀️

Yes, I've yet to read it, actually. It does seem like a women's book from the description. I expect to enjoy it as a nice break from some of the mystery novels I've been reading 😊

Well, going is better than not! I think that the thinking is much more of the process than the actual writing. You know?

I've been lazy with my writing lately, I haven't been doing any other than reading journaling. I might be doing some subconscious plotting of my own, though 🤔

Recently picked the majority of this series up from a wonderful used bookstore but haven't dived in yet. It looks amazing!

I picked up a very nice copy of Brida recently at a used bookstore and it actually made me think of our chats!

On my TBR and on my shelf, I'm really looking forward to this one 😊 Several huge King fans in my family, so I've grown up around his books. I certainly don't associate his work with fairytales, lol, but I'm excited to check it out

My partner and I love word games, and we just picked up Big Boggle last weekend and have been playing every evening 🙂 our cats haven't played yet, but I'm sure they will 😄 I'd missed Boggle!

An Arc review of The Dark Library by Mary Anna Evans. It's coming out in early June, and it's sooo good if you enjoy slow burn Modern Gothic historical fiction mystery novels 😍

I have a soft spot for books about books. I loved The Dictionary of Lost Words. It was wonderful. Unfortunately, I do not read any other languages fluently enough to enjoy the literature.
What sort of books do you find yourself drawn to most often?

I don't prefer one over the other. However, I have recently been on a streak of female authors, it seems. I believe the last thing I read by a male author was The Midnight Library by Matt Haig a few months ago. I'll actually be reading another of his soon, The Life Impossible

A Storygraph March reads stats graphic. At the top, it shows that I've read 6 books this past month, with a total of 2,297 pages. My average rating is 4.04, the average book length of my picks is 370 pages, and on average, it takes me 3 days to read a book. My highest rated reads were Small Favors, The Villa, and The Lies We Conjure; all rated 4.25.

My first time generating my reading stats for the month, these were my top reads for March. It wasn't my best reading month, but it wasn't too shabby either 🤓 I met a few characters I'd totally meet up in the woods with, or for coffee haha

I'm hoping that after I've caught up on some of the great authors who've written stand-alone novels and trilogies during my reading hiatus (late 20s to late 30s) I'll have the attention span for meatier literature like Jordan again. 😁🤞
