To clarify, I don't think McDavid is a bad player. His goalscoring record speaks for itself; he's obviously in the conversation of best players in the world right now. He's just not a leader—and that's okay. But the team needs to acknowledge that and find someone who is.

Edmonton Oilers fans love blaming their goaltending instead of addressing the team's main problem: McDavid can't lead and completely lost the team. They went into the final completely rudderless and just churned water for the entire series.
