Something you may not have known about "Migrant Mother" -- Lange didn't like the mother's thumb in the foreground at the extreme lower right of the original photo. So she had her assistant alter the photo and take it out.

This iconic photo of an unemployed migrant farm worker and surrounded by her hungry children was made by Dorothea Lange in March 1936 -- 90 years ago next month. My Further Review in today's Spokesman-Review.
