British Columbians want gas out of buildings, cleaner alternatives: poll
Polling clearly demonstrates that the higher your knowledge about the causes of climate change, the more likely you are to support climate policies.
"When asked if it was important for the BC government to speed up and strengthen its climate policies, nearly 6 in 10 survey respondents were supportive. An additional 22 per cent deemed this as somewhat important" www.nationalobserver.com/2026/02/04/o...

Economic growth is still heating the planet. Is there any way out?
Rising GDP continues to mean more carbon emissions and wider damage to the planet. Can the two be decoupled?

Heat with no end: climate model sets out an unbearable future for parts of Africa
By the end of this century, parts of Africa could face heatwaves for 250-300 days a year, which will make it difficult for people to survive.
"Globally, we need to keep reducing fossil fuel emissions, because even moderate cuts lower the chance of long, near-permanent heatwaves.
Locally, every land-clearing decision matters. ... keeping forests and cover on the land helps hold temperatures down."

The European city banning all fossil fuel and meat adverts in public
Amsterdam initially proposed the move in 2020, becoming the first city in the world to do so.
โAmsterdam is set to ban climate-damaging advertising [fossil fuel and meat adverts] in public spaces, following a trend spreading across Dutch cities.
France has also enacted legislation outlawing adverts from non-renewable energy companies, and one Italian city has plans to do the same.โ

It's rare to see how lobbyists operate. But the Epstein-Mandelson correspondence shows us what happens all the time: plutocrats and government ministers conspiring against the public interest. This is why all lobbying should be in the public domain, but despite Labour and Con promises, it's not. ๐งต
