I thought this was just a fairly common practice? I've been doing this for 26 years in high schools, language schools, universities, and teacher training sessions. Most of the time, the agenda for the class allows me to remember what I was planning to do π€£

I never expected this to get such a response.
I had heard of Tama, as we all have, thru a random Internet post. My bucket list trip to Japan included a sort of pilgrimage. And it was a great day! We saw Nitama and Yontama, took 3 of the 4 themed trains, and took a walk in the countryside. β€οΈ do it!

But it was really funny trying to read signs: my brain would register the letters, and sift thru English and French to try to decode Portuguese. When that didn't work, it would try to do the same thing with the Chinese side and be like 'Traditional and Simplified really are different!'

Unfortunately, the poachers will still go after even the tiny sliver of a nub that's left behind. It's made of the same material as your own fingernails!

It's so discouraging to see what once was, and what could have continued to be, the best example of accessible language instruction, language research, providing educational opportunities for lower-income students... the list goes on. But it's kind of over now.

This is really sad. I was at BC Yangon when they first started leaning towards more corporate models. When i moved to BC Penang, I witnessed firsthand how their pursuit of profits over people damaged the student experience and devalued us as teachers (Anyone recall 'MyClass').
