I may have a new candidate for the "mundane if you don't know, devastating if you do" screen cap game. Was always The Americans for me, but Andor is coming on strong.

Andor’s music is so powerful in the final episodes From S2E7’s Messenger to the finale S2E12, we hear the resonant warm bell of what might be called Bix’s Theme in 4 episodes. All are deeply meaningful emotional moments.

We start with E7 when the Force healer tells Bix that Cassian is a Messenger

So well said. I made the mistake back in season 1 of trying to eat at the same time as watch, thinking it would be just lightweight Star Wars. Boy, was I wrong. Had to go back and start again. The lasting benefit of the complexity – infinite rewatchability. Same as with a great novel.

There’s a great interview with Nick Park about Wallace And Gromit in last month’s Empire, and this bit in particular stood out. It sums up what artists have been trying to say about AI. The mistakes and the learning aren’t things to be bypassed, but a vital part of the process 🤟

I had made a huge production thread about Andor on Twitter, several hundred posts over several years.

Because the people who make Andor (and showrunner Tony Gulroy in particular) often have interesting things to say. So I'm picking up the thread here. 🤟

The first 3 episodes of ANDOR are streaming free on YouTube.

1977 is STAR WARS for me, so anything that genuinely supports/enhances that story (without feeling contrived) is sacred for me.

ROGUE ONE got close. ANDOR gets closer. It's really well done.

Profound and relevant, but also highly gripping, with the intricate irony of a Dickensian novel. Plus: characters are particularly hot hot messes. Win-win. Perfect series.
