The sloped rock slab provides an angled surface for the trail that follows the shoreline of Lake Superior. Firs and pines line portions of the trail.

The Rock Harbor Trail runs south along the shore of Lake Superior from Rock Harbor dock. It's a rugged trail crossing many slanted rock slabs but with countless forest openings for water views.
