The job of the High Level Office for Reconciliation and Anti-Racism is to:

📌 Connect Administration with diverse perspectives

📌 Collaborate across the organization and with community partners

Anti-racism is about action.

That’s why, in 2024, this council created Edmonton’s first-ever High Level Office for Reconciliation and Anti-Racism.

🛟 Outdoor pools open sooner and longer

3/ Thank you to our partners from the provincial and federal governments for your continued support for housing in Edmonton. These investments help provide Edmontonians options to find a home that fits their needs in a wonderful community.

2/ This eight-phase project aims to create upwards of 700 new homes, a third of which will be affordable housing, to replace more than 200 townhouse units approaching the end of their life cycle.

All Edmontonians benefit when we leverage existing infrastructure investments in mature neighbourhoods.

2/ The Fellowship has been a huge success. City administration and Councillors, including my office, have had the opportunity to work with youth who were able to inform and guide our work, while learning skills that they can carry on into their future.

Today we celebrated the 2025 Civic Youth Fellowship interns!

This program, born from my first motion as Mayor to develop an anti-racism action plan, provides youth from diverse backgrounds a firsthand look into municipal government and the opportunity to work alongside city leadership.

6/ Today’s choice is about partnership to build the future our city deserves. We need to keep finding creative ways to align private and public investment.

5/ I would like to thank everyone who spoke at Public Hearing this week. Whether you were for or against, your voice matters, and this is exactly why the municipal government allows residents to speak directly to their elected officials.

4/ Our downtown needs help. The tax base is decreasing, which puts more pressure on homeowners and businesses outside the core. More people living, working, and visiting downtown makes our city more financially, socially, and environmentally sustainable.

3/ Revitalization doesn’t happen on its own, it takes incentives, vision, and partnership. This CRL extension will help open up more land for housing and support the experiences that make downtown a vibrant place to live, work, and visit.

2/ By extending the Downtown Community Revitalization Levy (CRL), we’re unlocking the potential to build 2,500 additional homes, complete the Winspear Centre expansion, and support the kind of arts, culture, and public amenities that bring people into the heart of our city.

Today, City Council made a choice to invest in the future of our downtown. This builds on our previous investments to bring vibrancy, support local businesses, and restore declining property tax base in downtown.
