I thought it would be of particular interest to teachers!

I thought it would be of particular interest to teachers!
21.02.2026 11:09 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0But doesnβt everyone here also regard Musk as weird and creepy so a perfect match?!
21.02.2026 09:38 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I just picked up this story and I donβt think itβs had anywhere near the coverage it deserves soβ¦.
Potentially an absolute game-changer. Imagine if we had had this at the outset of COVID.
Single vaccine could protect against all coughs, colds and flus, researchers say www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
Sure but even if I had no choice, I would still read the Ofsted, go on a school visit and do other things to find out about the school. It might be that I have been in Asia too longβ¦.
21.02.2026 02:29 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I can well understand how you feel like that. Just to be clear, my post wasnβt intended to say that all was good with Ofstedβ¦.just to express my surprise that 80% of parents werenβt reading the reports.
21.02.2026 02:25 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Not at all. Genuinely one of my favourite middle-grade books!
20.02.2026 15:58 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yes - it was the boxout that really blew my mind! However, I think the fight for βthese dataβ over βthis dataβ is a lost causeβ¦.
20.02.2026 06:26 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0This is great app if you want to keep track of your reading (and it does a lot more too!).
19.02.2026 23:26 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Might be wrong about this but I donβt think most people are doing much reading on social mediaβ¦.
19.02.2026 15:20 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I think the data on horses and their ancestors in fossils is accurate. I am not sure about the way it is suggesting that the data be presented.
19.02.2026 14:50 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0But if you look at politiciansβ comments on them, they are usually based on βgiving information to parentsβ. Seems a big disconnect.
19.02.2026 14:39 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0That was my thought as well but I wanted to post on here to get some other views! π
19.02.2026 14:37 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I am certainly not convinced the new ones are any more useful for parents but I perhaps query why we are stressing if only 20% are reading them anyway. (I donβt think 80% are not reading them because they have decided in advance that they wouldnβt be useful).
19.02.2026 14:14 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This does depend a lot on location. Choice is realistic in London and other dense metropolitan areas and not at all in rural areas. My point is that is really that I would still read the Ofsted report even if I had no real choiceβ¦

Hi #EduSky science and indeed maths teachers! I am interested in your views on this which I saw in a school textbook for Y6. #MathsToday #ScienceToday
19.02.2026 14:07 β π 2 π 2 π¬ 6 π 0Yes - given that most parents apparently donβt read the Ofsted report, something simple arguably has merit.
19.02.2026 13:50 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Sure but even if there was no choice, I would still read the Ofsted report, just like I would still visit the school if they offeredβ¦. I may have been in Asia too long.
19.02.2026 13:47 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0I would still read it even if there we no other options. I might have been in Asia too longβ¦.
19.02.2026 13:42 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yeah - I think it could be an βinsideβ view that you look at everything and then decide on something practical. However, I did look at everything before I was a teacher as wellβ¦.
19.02.2026 12:35 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Referring specifically to the comment above mine about βitβs got a good Ofstedβ. I have certainly heard parents say that and similar.
19.02.2026 12:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 3 π 0This doesnβt sound like a reliable way of getting better information to meβ¦
19.02.2026 09:46 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I am beginning to think I have spent too long in Asia!
19.02.2026 09:44 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Well, very much depends on the area. Usually lots of choice in London. Also, even if there was no real choice, *I would still read the Ofsted report.*
19.02.2026 09:43 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yep. It was always a really useful resource but I looked at the update a week or two ago and it looks phenomenal.
Also, if anyone knows Craig Barton, please ask him to come on here. The #MathsToday crowd are very active and it seems weird he isnβt here.
I mean this is a very logical dilemma but this is surely a classic case where you *should* read the report so you can ask the new head about it and whatβs changed.
19.02.2026 09:38 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Well, I certainly donβt think they are designed to cause an increaseβ¦..
19.02.2026 09:35 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yeah - I think thatβs accurate. People perhaps arenβt avoiding it as much as relying on second-hand information about it.
19.02.2026 09:34 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Not disagreeing with that at all but Iβd still read the Ofsted report as well!
19.02.2026 09:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I was sure that was true before reading this and now even more sure itβs true. Still surprised that 80% arenβt even reading Ofsted, though!
19.02.2026 09:32 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Well, yes, I am surprised! All those things are true and they would factor into my decision-making but also, I would still read the Ofsted reportβ¦.
