Maybe it's not as exciting as i thought it would be in my head after seeing it written down. Oh, well.

Because of this, I remember looking into what's used supplements/nutrients being this kind of a grey area for regulation. Also realizing that the bulk of Americans really are getting enough protein. (The article also says this go read it)

It failed miserably. I can't prove it, but at the time, my manager speculated that it was likely that the water quality of the plant in question. Still sounds reasonable to me.

However, there was a time we're we were struggling to keep up with customer demand, so someone in either sales or supply chain asked the lab to test some 3rd party material. The idea being if it could meet our spec we could use it/re-sell it.

Because our product is used in medicine it has to be higher quality and also higher price. Generally we don't have a lot of customers that use our product in protein powders because of the cost.

For years, I did heavy metal testing for Amino Acids. Amino acids are often used to spike protein powders to supposedly improve performance. Leucine/Isoleucine/Valine being the most common. At the plant I'm at we mostly make a much higher grade material, so we don't see issues.

I think this is a pretty good thread and article (you should read it). It tracks with what I've seen as someone who has tested for heavy metals in the past. I don't feel like I get to talk about what I've done at work on Bluesky very often, so I'll make a short thread about it here.

The second best score on the company disc golf course. Not to upset, but i had an unlucky putt attempt where my disc rolled downhill. Otherwise, I would have made par the course again. Drives were really on target today. Perfect weather outside, too!

Ohhhhhh we got a winner
